Celebrate Chocolate Truffles Review/Giveaway

***Giveaway Closed***
I was recently given the opportunity to sample Celebrate Chocolate Truffles from Celebrate Life Nutrition. I'm all about chocolate, but was even more excited that it was chocolate that helps control my appetite. Not only did the truffles and cocoa almonds taste great, they also helped cut my cravings and delivered quick satisfaction. I received two sample packs of the Celebrate Chocolate Truffles. The first pack contained raspberry, cherry, and almond truffles. The second pack contained a dark truffle, a light truffle, and three cocoa almonds. Talk about delicious and rich in flavor! My favorite was the dark chocolate truffle, but they were all exquisite in taste. I only had to eat one at a time because it was made of high-quality cocoa and I didn't feel the need to eat more than one. The truffles did, indeed, control my appetite for wanting to eat more.
Celebrate Life Nutrition is a company started up by a mother who is interested in skin and food care formulation. The products are made with premium cocoa and are organically grown. Not only do these chocolates taste great, they are also good for you. Laura of Celebrate Life Nutrition has graciously offered to give one of my readers two sample packs of the chocolate truffles, just as I received.

Does Your Grill Dance?!

I've got a grill that dances...are you jealous?? Yes, I'm ashamed to say this is our grill. It's less than three years old and it's been overworked and overused. Usually I'm anal about pitching stuff that's no longer any good. But for some unknown reason the grill has stayed. Food no longer tastes good on it, screws are loose on it, and it dances if you give it a push. I'm not so sure it's even sanitary to eat from anymore.
A local television station is hosting a contest for the ugliest grill. The grill with the most votes wins a new one. Keep your fingers crossed for us. It'd sure be nice to get rid of our dancing grill.

School's Out

It's official. School is out for my children. Summer vacation has started and, from the looks of my date book, it's going to be a busy summer. Due to having a rather large family, we never have taken big vacations. I do, however, search the local paper for events and happenings going on in the area.
I have lots of great things planned for the kids this summer. The local library is having a summer reading program which my children will be signed up for. The library also has movie nights, craft programs, and various events with cowboy themes. The park district has events for children as well that we will be going to. We'll also be going to the local campground to swim, listen to live bands, play Bingo, and fish. Although I would love to have a long vacation out-of-state someday, I think the kids enjoy the activities that we get to do around here. The best part is that the events are free or cheap.
My oldest daughter will be attending a summer program that helps prepare her for college. She will get to go to Chicago for a week, all-expense paid. She also gets to spend a month in the local college dorms and take classes at the community college.
I love it when the kids get summer vacation so I can spend some quality time with them. During the school year, it seems they're busy with school and I'm busy with work so our time is somewhat limited. I look forward to being with them.

A Camping We Will Go

I'm super excited. It's almost Memorial weekend and that means I get a mini-vacation. We are packing up and going camping. Camping has been a tradition for over 10 years in my family. In addition to my family, my sisters, nieces, and other family members all gather at one campground and enjoy all the great things camping has to offer. This year we will be staying in a camper thanks to a friend who has loaned it to us for the weekend. I, personally, enjoy tent camping but my husband has struck that off his list after last year when our tent literally blew over on us during a huge storm and my mind was reeling with the famous movie line "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore"! The campground we will be going to this year will feature a live band, potlucks, fishing, swimming, and all-out great fun. I'm sure we'll come home with a frog or two thanks to my boys.
How will you be celebrating your Memorial Day weekend?

Great Find at Deb's

The other day I took my daughter shopping at Deb for a dress to wear to a school dance. While she was in the fitting room, I went to the plus size section to look at the clothing. I looked around for quite a while until, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a clearance rack for casual summer dresses. I spotted a purple ruffled dress by Aggie made of polyester and spandex. I definitely liked the look of it, but was more curious as to what the price was. To my total shock, it was marked down from $35.99 to $3!! I checked the dress thoroughly to try to find a flaw as to why it was marked down so low and didn't find anything wrong with it. Of course, I snatched it up. I now have an awesome dress to wear to my step-daughter's upcoming 8th grade graduation. Finds like these make me feel like I've hit the jackpot.

Would Anyone Like To Help This Lost Soul?

This blog is jus a few days old and I'm learning how it all works. I decided to start a blog because I want to ramble /vent/get advice on the raisings of my six children and family life. I also decided to start a blog because I would like to do product reviews and/or giveways. It's also a great way to get extra entries in giveaways. And yet another reason I decided to start a blog was to post about freebies and deals that I come across. I subscribe to over 200 blog updates by e-mail because I like to read other's blogs. And this was before I even started a blog of my own. I think it would be great to meet fellow bloggers.I'm still new to the blog world in terms of what I need to do to get more followers, product reviews, postings, and socializations. Any advice from fellow bloggers would be greatly appreciated.

At What Age Do You Stop Celebrating Birthdays?

I come from a fairly large family and we're all close-knit. We celebrate birthdays for everyone in our family, regardless of age. Because of this, there's an awful lot of birthday celebrations throughout the year. For example, in February, we had a cookout and presents for my brother-in-law's 46th birthday. Sometimes the parties are somewhat small and simple. We'll have a gathering in one of our homes with a dinner and presents for the birthday person. Other times, it is somewhat extravagant with skating, bowling, or swimming parties. It has been this way for as long as I can remember. If you're in my family by blood or marriage, you can guarantee you're going to have a party thrown for you. In fact, my brother's girlfriend got thrown into the party scheme when my mother threw a birthday party for her....and she's just the girlfriend of one year.
I, for one, do not have a problem with this. I enjoy the gatherings, even though it seems like there's one going on every weekend. I like making the birthday person feel special and it's another excue to get together with the family.
However, a couple of people have voiced their opinion within the last month that we seem to have an awful lot of get-togethers and birthday parties. They went on further to say that we should stop having birthday parties for people once they reach a certain age.
What's your take on this? Do you celebrate birthdays for everyone, regardless of age, or do you have an unwritten rule that the parties cease once a person reaches a certain age?

PineCone Research Referral

PineCone Research has given me the opportunity to invite others to become a member of their research group. PineCone Research is not generally available to the public and it is fairly hard to become a member unless someone has referred you through invitation.

A Big Shout Out To Angela of Barefoot Mommies

This is a big shout out to Angela of Barefoot Mommies who helped me with setting up this blog. I have wanted to start a blog for the longest time but was (and still am) pretty clueless about how to go about doing it. Angela jumped right in and helped me. I'm quite new to this, so please bear with me.
I'm an e-mail subscriber to over 200 blogs and I enjoy reading about others lives and reviews. Of course, the giveaways don't hurt either!! I've been a blog stalker for over a year now, but was always too scared to start my own. What if I don't have anything important to say? What if I reveal too much? What if I create Internet chaos by customizing, moderating, and editing all the wrong things?
Well, I've given in and jumped into the pool of sharks. I'm ready to take on this blog adventure and go for the ride. Yippeee!!
