Mama Flora's Family - DVD Review

DVD Synopsis:

Winner of two NAACP Image Awards and based on the bestselling novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Alex Haley, Mama Flora's Family will be released on DVD January 4th. Mama Flora's Family follows a southern black woman in her 70's looking back on a life filled with joy and heartbreak after being called to help her troubled granddaughter.

My Review:
Queen Latifah has always drawn me in with her acting skills, and she delivers in Mama Flora's Family. She, along with other cast members, drew me in to a story of hope, survival, and redemption. The overall storyline is that a mother fights to keep her family together while she tells the struggles and triumphs of her own life. This movie, with a lot of soul and, will leave you with a strong pull of emotions.
