Resurrecting Anthony - Book Review and Giveaway

Book Synopsis:

In this remarkable story Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination, authors Linda and Tony Cole find themselves stretched beyond anything they could have ever imagined when their 12-year-old son, Anthony, declares to a friend "I have no pulse" and collapses on the school playground. It takes paramedics thirteen tries to shock Anthony back to life, only to discover that the healthy, athletic boy has had a heart attack caused by a rare abnormal electrical pathway in his heart. It took four to five minutes to resuscitate him which deprived his brain of oxygen, setting into motion a chain of medical events that ultimately resulted in global traumatic brain injry. Drawing courage from their family and faith, the Coles face the enormity of Anthony's situation and search for answers that will give them back their son.

The book includes helpful "Toolbox", or takeaways, for living through crisis. It has organizational advice for dealing with the maze and mountain of paperwork that results from hospital and insurance bills. It also has an indispensible directory of recources for different groups.

My Review:

I'll honestly admit that there's times I've pondered "what ifs" with my kids. What if I passed away before I got to see them grow up? What if something medically catastropic should happen to them? How would I stay strong? How would I cope? I still don't know the answers and never will unless I'm faced with those situations.

Resurrecting Anthony: A True Story of Courage & Destination, by Alexandra Publishing, describes two parents' emotions and feelings as they deal with the circumstances that lead to their son's decline. The book describes a child who suffers a great bit due to a medical issue. That alone will tug at your heartstrongs. But it's not meant to bring you down or feel pity. It's meant to inspire and lift you up, reading how the parents are strong and devoted to their son. It's about living life and making the most of it. This story is powerful and inspiring.

There are so many that inspire me but the top two are my kids. Each one of them does things that constantly inspire me. And my husband would be the second.
