We're Moving To A New Home

My husband and I have been on a semi-active search for a different home to rent.  Without going into too much detail, the current place where we live isn't big enough and I have issues with my landlord either not fixing my stuff or fixing it to very substandard expectations.  The price of renting a house in my area is highway robbery and we're no rich folk, so the search has been kind of thrown under the rug for the last few months.

There's a house for rent just caddywampus from where my husband works.  He noticed it.  We took a look at it.  I prayed about it.  We got the call last night.  The house is ours if we want it.  I should be over-the-moon excited and I semi-sorta am.  However, I have butterflies in my stomach about the whole ordeal.

Moving takes time and patience, both of which I don't have much of.  And we have a TON of stuff to move.  You never know how much you have until you have to relocate it.  I'm not totally in love with the new place, but I don't hate it either.  There's pros and cons to it, which I'm sure I've overanalyzed with my husband a thousand times.

After more deliberation than a jury trial, we've decided we're going to go ahead with the move.  This next three weeks will have me in a frenzy.  Oh God, grant me the serenity....

Try to weed out as much as possible so you don't have to move it. So much of what we have is unnecessary.

Consider renting a storage unit and moving gradually. After you get the furniture in it always seems easier to fill in the rest.

Look at your new home with an eye to all its possibilities. You may discover that you really like it once you get settled in.

Most of all, congratulations on finding a new home. Perhaps it was just meant to be the one for you.
