Hormel Foods - Lend A Helping Hand Giveaway

Giving back to those less fortunate is important throughout the year, but the holidays present the perfect opportunity to get you in the giving spirit.  How do you embrace your charitable side during the holiday season?  Do you donate to a specific organization or write a thoughtful note to someone special in your life?  Do you send a care package to troops overseas or volunteer at a local soup kitchen?

I work at a 911 dispatch center and every year an organization is chosen to donate food and toys to.  One year it was a men's rescue mission center and last year it was a women's shelter.  It made us feel good to give to others less fortunate.  I don't know who the organization will be this year, but I will be donating items to it.

Hormel Foods has an "On Our Way to Ending Hunger" program where they collaborate with retailers, nonprofits, and the government on hunger relief efforts to nourish the hungry in the US and abroad, and to motivate individuals and corporate partners to take action to fight hunger.

I challenge you to give back to your community during the holidays as well.  Here are some items that food banks can use:

Hormel chili
Dinty Moore stew
Hormel Compleats Microwave Meals
Hormel Chunk Meats
Valley Fresh chunk meats
SPAM family of products
Hormel bacon bits
Hormel Mary Kitchen hash
Bottled water
Toilet paper
Laundry detergent

Win It!

One person will win a donation to a local food back in winner's community, courtesy of Hormel Foods.

Our church has a local food bank but after the tornado that came through our city back in April we have been working hard to rebuild it. It is nowhere near stocked and ready and we are continuing to almost empty it every week helping local families in need. If I win, I would donate it to the our church food bank so they can help many more families in need right here in our community.

The children at my sons old elementary school started a food bank for families in the district. We don't live there anymore, but the kids take a lot of pride in what they do and I would like to donate this to their pantry.

This is one of the best giveaways I have seen in a long tome. I would love to make a donation to our local "Christ's Kitchen". They are always in dire need of supplies. They give out so much food that they are always in constant need of more. Thanks for this giveaway.
