Random Tuesday Thoughts - Practice What You Preach

Random Tuesday Thoughts is a blog hop where you post about whatever randomness you want. If you'd like to participate, you can at Stacys Random Thoughts.

My husband and I are avid watchers of Celebrity Apprentice.  We don't watch when regular folk compete but have our eyes glued when celebrities play for their charities.  I don't have any strong favorites this season, but I have one strong dislike.  That would be Aubrey O'Day.  Don't get me wrong, she's full of creativity and imagination.  If only she wasn't so self-centered and vile.  It's ironic that the charity she's competing for is GLSEN, a network against bullying.  I definitely wouldn't want her representing me, with her bludgeoning behavior.
I appreciate everyone that replied to my prayer request and that prayed for me.  It's best that I don't go into details, but would appreciate if the prayers kept on coming.  I'm battling a bully of my own.
My dog almost got a boot up his ass the other day...until I realized his intentions.  Cisco has never shown aggressive behavior toward anyone but he was none too friendly Sunday.  After he almost chomped my arm off and kept nudging at people, it hit me what was possessing him.  My 2 year old niece was over and had fallen down a couple stairs.  She escaped unscathed but Cisco took to her with fierce protection.  Anytime anyone came near her, the dog would make a protective barrier against her and that person.  When I went to pick up Zoe to remove her from my knicknacks, that's when Cisco snapped at me.  After initial confusion, I realized that Cisco was protecting Zoe.  For whatever reason, he took to her and was doing everything to prevent any harm to her.
Logan attended his first invitational track meet of the year last week.  He fell short in the long jump event but placed 1st in all three of the race events he competed in.  That's quite an accomplishment when you get 1st place against seven other schools.  He's gonna be mommy's meal ticket someday!
Silly question I know, but what do you consider to be semi-formal?  I'm a girl who doesn't place fashion anywhere near my priority list and would stay in pajamas all day if I could.  Heck,  I'm more prone to wearing tutus or tie-dye for a theme night at camp.  Next week I'm attending a graduation celebration banquet for my daughter and the invitation indicated semi-formal attire.  Uhhhh, not sure what that means?!
Happy RTT!

Hmmmm, semi-formal...maybe a little dressier than business casual? lol I have the same issue, my daughter is graduating from 8th grade in 4 weeks (OMG) and I have to find something to wear, ugh. Maybe a long skirt so I can hide my flip flops underneath?

My hubby and I are avid watchers of Celebrity Apprentice - and have the same exact thoughts you do about Aubrey. She annoys us to no end with her inflated ego and self-centeredness!

Prayers will definitely continue...((HUGZ!))

Our dogs are protective of the kids, too - at least you know that Cisco will (fiercely) protect your niece and no one will be allowed to harm her... ;)

Semi-formal to me means a nice dress with heels - just not a gown. ;)

Could they be any more vague - "Semi-Formal"? Really? When I was in high school, there was a winter dance called the Semi-Formal for which people dressed up more than they did for prom. Now as an adult, I have seen people show up for "Semi-Formal" events in everything from jeans to sequins. A safe assumption would be to wear the level of formality that you would wear to a wedding (if you're not the bride :) ) or something close. Good luck!

I'd say a skirt and a top...nothing too fancy schmancy.

I think Aubry is very smart up to a point that she is too assertive and ticks people off. I'm wondering if it's going to come down to her versus Lisa.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

'Semi-formal' to me basically means dress up (which I don't do!). Whereas 'formal' might mean a formal gown and a tux for the guys, 'semi-formal' is, as somebody else suggested, wedding attire. BUT it does certainly seem that people don't take that too seriously anymore, so you could probably get away with something nice but not too irritatingly 'dressy'. :)

Stopping by from Random Thoughts.
Very interesting about your dog. We laugh here at my house, when I vacuum, the dog goes CRAZY, but if anyone else in the house uses the "monster" she could care less! I have to think it has something to do with the fact that she is "my dog". Although if there were real danger, I am sure she would do her best to protect us all! On the flip side, I'm also the one she wakes up when she wants to go out at 2am! Loyalty has it's "privileges"!
Semi Formal for my daughter's "freshman" dance (she did not attend, she's not into any kind of formal attire!) was cocktail type dresses for the girls, and suits, but not a tux for the boys.

Have a great day!
