Mari Winsor's Beginner Pilates DVD - Holiday Gift Guide Review

Gaian, Inc., the leading distributor of lifestyle media, has announced the release of famed Pilates instructor Mari Winsor's Beginner Pilates DVD.  This title is designed to teach the correct form, alignment and positioning of the most basic Pilates moves, allowing individuals to achieve results safer and faster.

Beginner Pilates features three workouts plus a bonus downloadable practice:

Perfect Pilates Form (5 minutes) - This "workshop" format breaks down several standard Pilates moves to ensure correct form throughout each exercise, making the most of every move.

Pilates Primer (25 minutes) - Contains easy-to-follow exercises, which teach how this dynamic workout method can help users achieve the body and results they have always wanted.

Strengthen and Lengthen (30 minutes) - Combines elements of the first two workouts showing how using "perfect form" can product quicker results.

Bonus Downloadable: Stand Tall (10 minutes) - A standing series that takes traditional Pilates vertical for a comprehensive, full body calorie burning workout.

My Review:

I'm the world's worst at making up excuses for not exercising.  I don't mind being active but exercise is a whole different ball game.  What motivates me the most is DVDs and home workout programs that are effective and easy enough for the average person to follow.  Mari Winsor's Beginner Pilates is one of the few exercise DVDs that I don't mind getting up off the couch for.  I haven't tried out the "Stand Tall" series that's available to download but have tried all the exercises and techniques in the DVD.  Mari explains different techniques in ways that are simple to follow along with, and the Pilates workout isn't so slow that it's boring but it's also not so fast or complicated that I just give up halfway.

I received DVD for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

I've never taken pilates, but I have done piloxing, which is a combo of kickboxing and pilates. I have terrible balance, though.

I LOVE exercise. I'm seriously the weirdest person because that burn when you have a really GOOD workout is what I live for :)

Unfortunately due to my health I can't really get that burn or work out as hard as I'd like to.

This seems like a fabulous workout DVD!
