Random Tuesday Thoughts - Lotsa Wins

Welcome to Random Tuesday Thoughts.  Post your randomness and link up at Stacy Uncorked.
Wow, has this month been a busy one!  I don't mind being on the go but it seems my schedule is on overload right now.  If it's not watching my son's basketball games or Christmas shopping, it's going to holiday parties or other celebrations.  I don't usually do so well with sensory overload but I've been keeping it on an even keel.
I turn 36 years old in just a couple days.  It's neither here nor there for me but my hubby is having a birthday celebration for me at our house on Saturday.  I appreciate the thoughtfulness but also know I'm the one who's going to have to clean house this week to prepare.
Also this Saturday is the family's annual Candy/Cookie Day.  The women and older children of the family will be getting together to divide candies and cookies that we've made onto trays to hand out to co-workers and friends.  So yeah, I still have to make a ton of confections within the next couple days.  I have a couple ideas of what I'm going to create but still need more.  Have any simple holiday cookie or candy recipes you'd like to share that don't require the expertise of a master chef or ingredients that I can't pronounce?
I'm pretty adamant when I say I hate cold weather.  And it's getting colder and colder as the days go by.
It's been a pretty good month for wins for me.  Within the last couple weeks I've won a $100 Best Buy gift card in a Twitter contest, an Apple iPad Mini in a Twitter contest, and just received word that I won an Olympus PEN E-PL3 camera (retail $599) from Cool Mom Tech.  I'm beyond stoked.  I don't have expensive gadgets because I can't afford them so to win them is a dream come true.  I've already spent the Best Buy gift card on Christmas gifts for the kids, but the other two items I'm keeping for myself because, well, I deserve them dang it!

Your hubby should hire a maid to clean & prep the party for your birthday - you shouldn't have to do it :(

My in-laws also do a big Christmas cookie baking day, but I usually miss it because we're just too busy this time of the year to fit in a whole day of baking.

Holy WOW! You're not kidding when you said you did well with wins. I wouldn't mind winning myself a camera and iPad mini like that! Actually that's what I'm trying to do, but alas, it's not meant to be...Yet ;)

Many congratulations to you! And yes, you keep them because you deserve it!

This time of the year is always busy for everyone, so I totally understand. Just remember to take a few deep breaths in between everything!

Second, Buckeyes are my favorite holiday treat. They are pretty easy and basic, but take a bit of time and a lot of counter space, but are so worth it, if you're so inclined. And if you like peanut butter with chocolate. :)

Lastly, holy smokes, that's some major contest mojo! Congrats on some seriously fabulous wins!! Wish I could shake your hand and have some of that luck rub off on me!
