Random Tuesday Thoughts - Beautiful Creatures Sporting Tattoos with A Bad Back

Hello and welcome to Random Tuesday Thoughts.  If you'd like to play along, link up at Stacy Uncorked.
I watched an advance movie screening of Beautiful Creatures earlier tonight.  I scored free movie tickets and took my 18 yoa daughter with me. The place was packed shoulder to shoulder.  As for the movie itself, it was pretty good.  I don't know how to sum it up really though, other than to say "different".  It felt like a bunch of movie elements were thrown in to give it an Alice in Wonderland, Hunger Games, Twilight, Varsity Blues spin.

I hear the movie is being compared to Twilight.  I have to disagree.  For one thing, I don't think Kristen Stewart can act so I was pained when I watched that movie.  For another, it's about witches, not vampires.
Me and Jason lasted one month with fitness classes.  Yep, we're quitters.  It wasn't because we didn't want to do it but because the price doubled.  The moolah we paid out in January was the introductory price.  They introduced us, then wanted more out of us.

Our budget is tight as it is and I wasn't going to rob Peter to pay Paul just for fitness classes.  So
he and I are now working out three days a week at home with the Wii Fit and the manual stair stepper.  Seems to be working for us.  I still haven't really lost any weight but I have more stamina and endurance.
Anybody have a more exciting Super Bowl than me?  Cuz mine was pretty lame.  I hung out with a couple of friends at their home and watched it.  No matter how many times I try to watch it, football bores me.  The commercials and halftime show didn't do much for me either.  I thought Beyonce's performance was sub par, although the effects were dazzling.  She did more gyrating than singing.  I'm an open-minded, usually not very modest person, but the GoDaddy commercial made even me uncomfortable.

Speaking of football, Jason's boss had us over recently to watch Any Given Sunday because "IT'S THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER."  Again, football isn't my thing but I could watch Varsity Blues over and over so I was under the misconception that maybe Any Given Sunday would be just as good.  In the end, I would have rather watched paint dry.  It's three hours of my life I'll never get back.
Jason threw his back out last week while working on the motorcycle.  I warned him the bike would be the death of him.  He went to the chiropractor three times.  I even cashed in money from the piggy bank so he could go the third time.  As they say, "third time's a charm".  He's like new again and back to working on the bike.
I have nothing against tats, but what is it about the age of 18 that teenagers get the tattoo itch?!  Both Shelby and Allyson have gotten tats within the past six months.

Shelby's is above one of her ankles and wraps around with the quote "Follow Me, Everything Is All Right".  It's an Uncle Kracker song and my mother's favorite, so it's Shelby's homage to her.
Allyson's is placed on the top of her foot.  If you look at it from one direction it says "One Love".  Flipped over, it says "Family".
Happy RTT!

I love tattoos and now I totally want another one.

With the fitness thing - you can always do stuff at home, right? Plus just watching your calories will help.

When I turned 20 I got my first tattoos. It was 33 years until I got another!

I hate when places double the price after they suck you in...good for you continuing your own fitness regime with the WiiFit and stair-stepper! I really need to dust off my've inspired me! :)

I have to say both Shelby and Allyson's tattoos are very cool - I didn't get my first on until I was 30... I now have 3 and want another one. ;)

How fun I want to see that movie but Rick doesn't like "those type of movies" so I so will have to watch on DVD. I hear that all the time about her acting. I liked the books watched the first movie and that was it for me ... lol.

OMGosh talk about sucking you in and then sucker punch with the price for the classes!

Yeah that football movie is not my fav, Rick of course loves it. Give me Remember the Titans or Blind Side any time!

I'm so glad his back is back to normal.

YAY FOR THE WII FIT! You know that's my jam! Make sure you do the boxing one in the aerobics section if you have a nunchuck, it really works the abs (although ten minutes of it can frustrate me sometimes).

Popped over from Stacy's place.
It is hard to tell an 18 year old that tats are a lifetime commitment or they are very expensive to remove. I waited until I was in my late 40s to get my first one. Now, I'm thinking of getting my second but I so cheap that I am weighing whether I need a new kitchen knife more. :-)
