Random Tuesday Thoughts - Spring, Are You Really Here?

Howdy and welcome to Random Tuesday Thoughts, hosted by Stacy Uncorked.  If you'd like to participate, link up and read what randomness everyone has to say.
The first day of spring was March 20th and guess what we got. Seven inches of snow!  I'm sooo over cold weather.  We get a couple good days here and there as a teaser, then temps drop again.  Mother Nature, how I despise thee.
Camping season is officially in full swing.  The campground opened up for the season yesterday.  I went up there to check out the place and pay rent.  It'd been five months since being there.  We'll now be spending most of our weekends at the campground enjoying the good friends and good times.  Let the fun commence!
Call me a procrastinator but eight years after its release, I finally watched Passion of the Christ for the first time last Sunday. I never watched it before because I didn't want to "witness" the torture and suffering. Jason talked me into viewing it on Sunday. If watching that movie doesn't make an impact on a person, nothing will. It's brutal to see but definitely makes you stop and think what Jesus went through for us.

Allyson, bless her heart, is 18 years old and got the short end of the stick (pun intended).  My boys are 13 and 14 and tower over her like massive giants.  She takes it in stride and goes with the mantra "I'm not short; I'm fun sized."
Me and the boys watched The Call at the theater last week.  My interest was piqued when I saw the previews and it featured a 911 Dispatcher taking a call about an abducted child.  Although the movie is actually more of a suspense thriller it was interesting to see some familiarity between how they portrayed 911 in the movie compared to the job I do.
After three weeks of having her, I made the ultimate decision to give Audi, the 11 month old German Shepherd up, to Jason's mom and brother.  No matter what I did, she'd dookie in my house.  I couldn't do anything without fear of stepping in a big pile of dog doo.  And it wasn't for lack of trying.  It was like having a newborn baby, getting up at all hours of the night and trying to get her to take a dump outside.  My poor carpet cleaner was run through the mill.  Crazy thing is, she was housebroken when we got her.  I don't know if it was defiance or jealousy of the other dog, but she JUST WOULDN'T POOP OUTSIDE.  And to beat all, she does just fine with it all now that Jason's mom has her.
I guess I just wasn't cut out to take care of a young pup.  Cisco, our German shepherd, is ten years old and suits me just fine.  The next time the kids or husband try to coerce me into a pet, the answer will be a firm no.

Speaking of Cisco, Adam gave him a bath the other day.  By the time it was all said and done, water was in every place imaginable.  All over my floor, on my ceiling, and every inch of the walls.  At least the dog doesn't stink now.
I received the results from the upper and lower GI procedure I had done a couple weeks ago.  The verdict is Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Gastritis.  Doc wants to put me on some meds.  I'm still debating.  I'm not the best at being on a regular pill regimen.

I must give kudos to the staff who took care of me during the procedure.  From the time I went in and spoke to the receptionist to the time I  was wheeled in a wheelchair to get in the car, I was treated with compassion, professionalism, and kindness.  I was beyond amazed with the courtesy of the staff and doctors.

I have an admission to make.  The Purex Glitter review I posted yesterday was an April Fool's joke.  *ducks down to keep hurled rocks from hitting me*  With the exception of that one silly review, all others are honest and of my own opinion (Girl Scout's honor).  I partnered up with Purex to pull the prank.  Did it fool you?!
Happy RTT!

Spring has sprung here, too, but since I'm in New England, you just never know. I've seen it snow in May (yes, really), so I am reluctant to put the snow gear away just yet.

My sister actually has Irritable Bowel Syndrome, too, and she lives a very normal life with it. She just has to watch what she eats a little bit more, but other than that, she is able to manage it. At least you finally know what you have and can start treating it so you feel better!!

My niece was given a Basset Hound puppy years ago. They tried housebreaking that dog for what seemed like forever. When the dog went to my mom's house for a visit or when they were away he never had accidents. When he went back home to my brother's house he had accidents all the time. My brother finally gave him to our mom...just where the dog wanted to be. I'm just happy the dog was there when my daddy died. The dog was such a comfort to her.

Mother Nature sure is whacked, isn't she? Though I'm really hoping that she doesn't get mad at all the cold complaints and hit us with stifling heat too soon. ;)

I always look forward to living vicariously through you and camping season!! Can't wait! :)

I need to watch Passion of the Christ - I have it, but haven't watched it...I keep hearing good things about it, though!

Wow! The boys do tower over Allyson, don't they? Love that she calls herself 'fun sized'. :)

I'm betting Audi dookie-ing in your house was a jealous thing (like her version of marking her territory competing with Cisco). Glad she's doing great with Jason's mom and brother - she probably needed to be an 'only'. ;)

So sorry about the IBS and Gastritis - I'd be like you, not sure about meds since I'd be terrible at taking them regularly. ;)

I bet you all are so excited to get with your camping buddies!

Hey fun size is sometimes the best :)

I'm sorry to here about the pup that is such a bummer. Glad she like her new home.

Wowy, you've definitely got a lot going on this week! I couldn't agree with you more about the whole Mother Nature thing; she's a cruel, cruel temptress this "Spring" if we can even call it that.

I didn't realize you had gotten another dog! Although I'm sad to hear you had to give her up, but I honestly would have done the same thing; it just wasn't meant to be this time!

Hopefully warmer weather will come (and STAY) so you guys can enjoy going camping ^.^
