My Review:

I don't make any bones about it; I'm overweight.  After learning about this particular diet I was interested in reading the book, The Fast Metabolism Diet, and seeing if I could apply it to my life.  The first step, of course, was to read the book.  The next step was taking the information and putting it into action.

The basic premise of The Fast Metabolism diet is to rotate what you’re eating throughout each week according to a plan carefully designed to induce precise physiological changes that will set your metabolism on fire.  There are three phases that are to be repeated for four weeks.  Phase one consists of eating lots of carbs and fruits.  Phase two has you eating lots of proteins and veggies.  Phase three has you consuming all of the above, plus healthy fats and oils.  The book has several chapters that explain what metabolism is and how the program works.  It also includes several recipes.

Reading the book made me realize that there are certain triggers I've been doing that's sabotaging a healthy lifestyle.  Although I didn't follow The Fast Metabolism Diet to a tee, I found several of the tips and advice helpful and tried to adhere to the diet for the most part.  I didn't lose up to 28 pounds in 20 days but I did lose some weight and I do chalk that up to having followed most of the guidelines in the book.
