Gatsby-Inspired Makeup from Rimmel London - Review

I received products for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

The long-awaited film, The Great Gatsby, has opened and the beauty inspiration from the film did not disappoint. From subtle, baby-pink nails to deep berry lips and flirty, long lashes, Rimmel London has all of the beauty essentials you need to create a 1920’s-inspired makeup look.

Match Perfection Foundation - The .SPF 18 foundation is the perfect first step in achieving the perfect complexion. Although the color is a little light for my skin tone, the overall coverage I get from this foundation is good.  It's not cakey or heavy on my skin.  $8.99

Smooth on Rimmel’s Stay Matte Pressed Powder contains natural minerals to control shine for up to five hours and helps to diminish the appearance of pores.  Again, the color is a tad bit light for my skin tone, but the powder keeps my face from looking too shiny and it helps keep my makeup on for several hours.  $5

Rimmel’s Glam’Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara has a 2-in-1 cap that contains a daytime formula to lengthen and define, and a nighttime formula to thicken, adding oversized volume. This is my favorite from the Gatsby-inspired makeup line.  The mascara with a long wand adds volume to my lashes and the black color is dark enough that it makes my eyelashes pop.  $7.99

Rimmel’s Moisture Renew Lip Colour contains three super moisturizes to hydrate lips and leave them up to 60% smoother, as well as SPF 18 to protect. Berry Queen and Burgundy Shine are both deep, wine-stained colors.  By first looking at the colors, I thought they'd be too dark but both actually suit my lips and give them color that's agreeably noticeable.  The lipstick doesn't feel gunky or heavy.  As with most other lipsticks, it does transfer onto cups when taking a drink but the color predominantly stays on my lips for quite some time.   $6.79

Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Pro Nail Lacquer in Pink Bliss is a pale shade of pink and  is perfect for someone who wants a light shine on their nails.  It goes on smoothly and doesn't chip until after a few days of wear.  $3.99

Although I haven't perfectly achieved a 1920s look with Rimmel London makeup, it's mostly due to the fact that I'm not much of a makeup artist.  With that said, I like the feel and look of Rimmel London beauty products.
