Hanging Out At The Hilton

Over the weekend Logan participated in Track & Field district qualifiers to advance to nationals.  The meet was in St. Louis so we stayed the night at Doubletree by Hilton in Chesterfield about fifteen minutes away.

To say that the hotel is worth the expense is an understatement.  From the time we walked in to the time we walked out, we felt like our needs were met and we were treated with professionalism.  The hotel itself boasts fifteen indoor and outdoor tennis courts along with a fitness center, jogging track, indoor pool and outdoor pool.

The hotel we stayed at is located in a secluded area.  There's no businesses or attractions within walking distance.  Because we had some time to kill before checking in we visited the Chesterfield Mall which is a short driving distance.  It has almost every store you'd expect at a mall but it didn't impress me much.  Shopping really isn't my forte so one time around the place window shopping was good enough for me.

Once we got to the hotel, they were kind enough to let us check in early.  They were able to get a room ready for us an hour and a half before regular check-in time.  We were given a tour of the grounds by one of the employees and was very impressed with all it had to offer.  Our room was located on the tenth floor.

The lobby and bar area had very spacious seating.  Even though the hotel was booked, I didn't feel like I was intruding on anyone and I didn't feel like other people were breathing down my neck.  Ample seating allowed for groups to be in their own cliques.
Logan and Adam were quite impressed with the decor and everything that was available to do.

Jason ordered one drink from the hotel bar and I tried a Screwdriver.  Although my drink was a little on the high side, there was no shortage of vodka in it.  Enough so that I couldn't finish the drink.

Upon check-in we all received free freshly baked chocolate chip walnut cookies.  Adam felt like king of the mountain eating a cookie in bed.

To be honest, we hung out a lot in the hotel room.  It was nice to relax, watch TV, and giggle like little schoolgirls over obnoxious jokes.

Adam got some time in at the indoor pool.  He didn't get to swim in the outdoor pool because it had rained quite a bit earlier that day.

The view from our window taunted us with the outdoor pool we didn't get to swim in.

Somewhere in this pile of pillows is Logan.

For supper we ordered Papa John's pizza and had it delivered to our room.

The fitness center had plenty of equipment for several people to get their workouts.

The only major downside to the hotel was that it didn't offer continental breakfast.  And for the food they did have, they wanted to charge an arm and a leg.

Even though the room was luxurious and the hotel was hospitable, my favorite part was bonding with the boys.

The Hilton hotels are very nice. I'd be upset with no breakfast either, because like you said, breakfast at the hotel could get costly for a family.
