Last Minute Father's Day Gifts at Staples - Canon Digital Camera Review

Staples.com provided me with these products for review. The thoughts and opinions expressed are strictly my own. Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.  Feel free to shop their entire line of mini refrigerators online.

Staples is known for their office supplies and furniture.  I've shopped there several times to get printer ink and computer paper, as well as school supplies.  But did you know that Staples also offers other merchandise, such as gaming equipment and e-readers?  Father's Day is soon near and if you haven't purchased something for the special father in your life yet, Staples is a place to consider.

Digital film cameras are also offered by Staples.  I received the Canon PowerShot SX500 IS for review and have been playing around with it.

This particular digital camera comes with a battery pack, battery charger, interface cable, neck strap, lens cap, Getting Started guide, and digital camera solution disk.  A memory card is not included.  Because there are so many buttons and features, I definitely recommend reading the Getting Started guide first.  It will give you the basic instructions and button functions.  The battery charger plugs into the wall and will alert you when the batteries are fully charged.
The PowerShot SX500 IS Digital Camera from Canon has a 24mm wide angle lens with a 30x optical zoom. The zoom is quite impressive.  I've been able to photograph images far away and up close.  The colors are sharp and the picture quality has been clear on the majority of my photos.  A button on the camera allows you to easily zoom the wide-angle lens in and out to get the shot you want.  The camera has a built-in flash that detects facial brightness.  Once you push the "off button" on the camera, the lens will automatically retract so it doesn't stick out.  In addition to taking pictures, you can record video.  I have noticed a short lag in shutter delay but it hasn't been a big hindrance.

Although I've had the Canon PowerShot SX500 IS for a short time, it's become a photo favorite. I've owned several digital cameras and have enough experience to compare them. The features and photo quality of this Canon digital camera are superior.

That looks like an awesome camera. I have a small canon point & shoot and I love it. My big camera is a Nikon, which I love, too, but it's too big & bulky to take with us on vacations.
