A Mexican Style Birthday Dinner

Logan turned 15 years old the other day and asked if I'd take him out to eat at El Rancherito, a local Mexican eatery.  I obliged more so when Logan said I could take photos of him wearing the birthday sombrero they place on birthday guests' heads while the entire wait staff sings.  Logan will usually dodge the camera so getting a goofy picture of him at his will was a highlight for me.

He and I went to El Rancherito by ourselves and chowed down on some Mexican food.  The restaurant supplies a free basket of chips and salsa, which we also devoured.

Then the moment of truth came....

I saw the waiter walk toward us and I had my camera aimed, ready to go.  Only to be let down.

It seems the restaurant did not have enough wait staff on hand to gather around and do the Mexican birthday song.  Logan didn't get to wear the sombrero but he did get a free dessert out of the deal.  AND, best part of all, Logan still let me take his picture.

Looks like he ate GOOD for his birthday. I love Mexican, but it's hard to find good Mexican food around here. The best I had was out in San Diego.

Boy that food sure looks good. I don't know which looks better, the entree or the dessert!
