We Made It 11 Years!

Jason and I celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary Friday. I know it's cliche to say but I think he's the greatest guy there is and I'm super lucky to be married to him.

Looking back, I wasn't sure if we were going to make it even five years. We had a few bumps and bruises along the way. He took on my three kids and I took on his three. And as anyone knows, when you take on someone else's kids you also take on their exes. I give kudos to all parents and even bigger kudos to step-parents.

Although I've always loved Jason, I love him more now than ever. Our relationship seems to grow stronger each year we're married. There's things about both of us that drives each other straight up a wall, but we've adjusted and learned to let the minor things go. He's accepted that I don't like to cook often and I've accepted that cleaning isn't his strong suit.
Jason's been working really long hours and we haven't been seeing much of each other. He surprised me by getting off work early on Friday and taking me out to for lunch at a local barbeque eatery. He also bought me a Jagermeister gift set, an angel statue and an anniversary card. I took the non-romantic route and bought him two tshirts and a bunch of beef jerky. The next evening we went to the campground and listened to a live band. Jason had them sing 'Wonderful Tonight' by Eric Clapton to us as we slow danced.

I'm the luckiest woman in the world and can't wait to celebrate many more years with such a great guy.

Happy Anniversary! You've been married to him just as long as I've been married to my husband. We'll celebrate 12 years in the spring.
