Wordful Wednesday - Keeping Busy in the Winter

The colder months are upon us and I'm none too happy about it. Me and winter don't get along, ever. Adam and Jason have found things to occupy their time while waiting out the months of cold and snow.

Adam's father has a pecan tree at his home and Adam has taken full opportunity of it. He's gathered a boatload of nuts and has been busy cracking the shells to retrieve the pecans. Adam fills a freezer Ziploc bag full of pecans and sells each for $7. It takes almost four hours to fill one bag. Adam works hard and diligently, knowing that the nuts will get him some cold hard cash.

Jason, in the meantime, has been busy rekindling his love for RC cars. I don't, for the life of me, get why someone would spend so much money on an RC car only to have to put EACH and EVERY piece together. It's like a puzzle that never ends with instructions that make no sense. As long as it makes him happy...

What do you do in the winter to occupy your time?

I don't love the winter, either, but I still send the kids outside. As long as it's over 32 degrees, they are out!

Pecans sound wonderful!

I actually got a few winter puzzles out for my 5 year old to enjoy. We've been playing UNO as a family more since it's been cold. It's one game that we all can enjoy.

I love pecans! I wish we had a pecan tree. I am not a fan of winter. I've stocked up n books and hot tea and plan to wait out the season, praying its a short one.
