Nickelodeon: Holiday Gift Guide DVDs

I received products for review. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services. Your opinions and results may differ.

Filled with original songs and exclusive extra scenes, this Christmas special will become a holiday favorite for the whole family. When Swiper tries to swipe the Christmas star from Dora's Nochebuena Party, he lands on Santa's naughty list. To get back on the nice list, Dora must help Swiper travel to the past, the present, and the future to discover the true spirit of Christmas. Will you help too?

Dora helps Swiper go from being on the naughty list to the nice list as they travel in time in this 52 minute episode that's based on Dora's Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) party. Dora fans will love this show that has fun tunes and teaches morals.

It's nonstop ninja action as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles face off against new enemies and old, including the Rat King, Cockroach, Baxter Stockman, and more. All this, leading to the ultimate showdown against the Kraang and the Shredder himself. And there's more, including four "The Mutation of a Scene" shorts and Animated Comic Books.

This two-disc DVD set contains the final twelve episodes from season one of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series. Each episode is about 24 minutes long and fatures Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo battling enemies. Although this DVD doesn't necessarily revolve around any Christmas themes, it'd still make a wonderful gift for TMNT fans.

It's Christmas and Bikini Bottom as you've never experienced them before. Created entirely in Stop Motion animation, It's A SpongeBob Christmas is destined to be a holiday classic. This special double-length episode finds all of Bikini Bottom in a festive mood as they prepare for Santa's arrival. But not Plankton, who's once again expecting a lump of coal. So he comes up with his most diabolic scheme yet, one that practically guarantees he'll finally get the gift he's always wanted - the Krabby Patty secret formula! It's A SpongeBob Christmas includes a behind-the-scenes featurette, an animatic, a SpongeBob Yule Log, and two downloadable songs from the episode.

I'm a fan of SpongeBob and watch the episodes when I catch them on TV. I love the humor and quirky antics. It's A SpongeBob Christmas is a 22-minute episode that features SpongeBob characters in stop motion form. It's different than the animation I'm used to but I enjoyed the twist on the characters and it made them seem more lifelike. I like the message of this show and it's enjoyable to watch during the holiday season, but I don't care for the use of words like "jerk" and "idiot". The show could've done without any of those.

Celebrate this holiday season with the Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomi! Join the Guppies for a festive double-length feature as they work together to share the joy of the holiday season with their neighbor, Mr. Grumpfish. And as a holiday bonus, team u pwith Team Umizoomi in two special episodes. They'll need your mighty math powers to find a sled for Sanjay in the snow, and to collect 50 baby penguins all around Umi City. You can count on a fin-tastic holiday with Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomi in these three festive episodes.

These winter-themed episodes are pulled from the popular Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomi shows on TV. The total running time for all the episodes is 69 minutes. Although I favor Bubble Guppies over Team Umizoomi, this is a darling DVD for young children that teaches thinking skills, problem solving, and math equations.

What is your child's favorite Nickelodeon show or character? Will you be purchasing any DVDs this Christmas season for your child?
