Wordful Wednesday - Stony Creek Inn

Saturday, just for kicks and grins, we spent the night at Stony Creek Inn. The travel didn't take us far; the place is only ten minutes away from where we live. But it afforded us a night's retreat of relaxation and fun.

Stony Creek Inn has an outdoorsy theme and is so cozy. There are thirteen locations nationwide. I'm fond of its countrified atmosphere. We spent the evening swimming in the heated indoor/outdoor pool, hanging out in the dry sauna, soaking in the hot tub, exercising on the exercise equipment, and chowing down on delivery pizza.

The cold, snowy weather didn't deter us as much when we were inside a nice, relaxing environment. The pool is heated indoors and outdoors so the kids still went outside to swim, even in the frigid weather. I even ventured outside for a short time but realized that my upper half was still exposed to the cold. It didn't take me long to realize I'd be spending most of my time inside.

The exercise room wasn't real impressive but we spent a lot of time in there. It consisted of a weight bench, a treadmill, and an exercise bike. The boys were beefed up with their egos and had competitions to see who could lift the most or go the fastest.

It was like Stony Creek Inn knew I was coming! Their soaps and other hygiene samples were from the Terra Pure brand. My name's Terra and I'm pure (just go with me here!), so that scored brownie points in my book.

The continental breakfast the next day was ehhh. I've had better and I've had worse. On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd give Stony Creek Inn a 4. And for the quality time spent with family, it exceeded a 5.

Do you stay at a hotel or inn just for a night away or something different to do? Have you ever been to a Stony Creek Inn?

Sometimes staycations are the best, just what's needed for a little rejuvenation. :)

I like the rustic look of the place. We only stay in hotels when we travel, but I know my kids would love to stay in a local one if they had all that her!

We stayed in a Stony Creek Inn, and it was great! I loved the cozy cabin atmosphere. We only stay in hotels when we're traveling, but every time we do it's a treat!
