Join Hormel Foods in the Fight to End Hunger - #HormelFamily

I received products as part of the Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger Program.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

I've been on the receiving end of asking for food.  I felt lowly and shameful, but years ago it was what I needed to do sometimes to feed my family.  I'm in a position now to help others and I don't want anyone to go without food.  Going without can affect a person physically and psychologically.

My family and I participate in several food drives throughout the year.  We've also helped serve at a local soup kitchen.  I don't say this to brag but to say that it's simple to do and it can help change people's lives.

Philanthropy is important to Hormel Foods – and that’s why they have made an ongoing commitment to help end hunger and give back to the communities in which they live and work. Hormel Foods recently completed the third year of the On Our Way to Ending Hunger program, through which more than $6.5 million was donated to hunger relief organizations throughout the United States and abroad during fiscal year 2013. To read more about the program and this year’s donations, check out the press release.

Hormel Foods is committed to continuing to give back in 2014. If you’re interested in assisting those in need in your community, consider donating to your local food shelf. Hormel Foods offers a variety of non-perishable products, and Feeding America® provides a great tool for locating a food bank nearest you.

How do you support the fight against hunger?
