Wordful Wednesday - Derby Girl Bridal Shower

A couple weeks ago I attended a bridal shower for one of the girls on our roller derby team. I'd like to say I got a picture of the bride-to-be but, well, I didn't. I did take a few pictures of the decorations. They were unlike any I'd seen for a bridal shower and I loved the overal look and theme.

Several of the decorations were handmade by the bride and her bridal party. Guests were served a delicous lunch and drinks were given out of mason jars. Each guest was able to take home a party favor of homemade natural laundry detergent.

My favorite set-up was the gift section. Vintage trunks and pieces were gathered for a pretty decorative setting. In one section was a set-up of framed photos of each person involved in the bridal party and their bios. I liked this idea because it gave guests a chance to get to know everyone in the bridal party and their involvement/relation to the bride or groom.

Bo Diesel and Large Hadron CollideHer kickin' it. I refuse to show a pic of me that day cause I looked unbelievably bloated.

Several gals on our roller derby team attended to support the bride. In fact, three of the derby girls are in the actual wedding.

Havoc Moon almost always has her tongue sticking out in all the pictures. Bet there will be more like it during the wedding and reception!

Do you like attending bridal showers? Is there one you've attended that stands out in terms of decorations or unique ideas?

I love how they decorated for this shower - everything looks wonderful! Mason jars have so many uses - I just received some and feel the need to come up with something clever to do with them!
