Random Tuesday Thoughts - Ice Bath & Skeletons

It's Tuesday, yo! You know what that means! Time to link up your randomness at Stacy Uncorked.

Logan, my 16 yoa, runs about nine miles Every.Single.Day!! That's the training for Cross Country. I say it's training for a slow, evil death.

Because his bones and joints sometime hurt and ache, Logan takes an ice bath often. He takes three bags of ice and dumps them into cold bath water. How's that for an ice challenge! He's not without company. Our dog, Helen, likes to jump in and chomp on as much ice as she can.

Speaking of running, I've been doing some of it lately myself for roller derby practice. Because the skate rink is extremely busy with brats having birthday parties, we have to get creative and sometimes do off-skate exercises. Lunges don't bother me. Jumping jacks are okay. Situps are feasible. But running, it's the devil!

As of yesterday, I've been ten years as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher. I get to field calls and dispatch fire, ambulance, police, and sheriff to the appropriate places. I'm not insensitive by any means but most of the stuff that comes in doesn't phase me much anymore. Once you've heard of one fight, you've heard of 'em all. I love my job, though, and am happy to have been on board for even that long.

Adam, my 15 yoa, found a hidden treasure in one of his classrooms the other day. He came across an unfinished dollhouse that had been sitting for eight years. The teacher explained that it was started by students but never completed. Adam offered to take the dollhouse home to finishe the project. The teacher was elated and Adam is excited to get his hands busy with it. Right now, he's been painting the trim. It's been decided that the dollhouse, once finished, will be donated to a children's hospital.

I went shopping at an outlet warehouse last weekend. I was not impressed with the piles of junk and useless things thrown around. But I found a sweet score when I purchased some glass skeleton plates and platters for $1. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I was super stoked to find a great deal.

Do you enjoy decorating for Halloween? What's your randomness for the week?

No, I don't do Halloween. That's a funny picture though, an ice bath sounds great for what he's got.

An ice bath sounds almost as torturous as the running that put him there in the first place....

And I love those plates and Halloween. My youngest child was born October 23rd and I can't wait to have birthday/Halloween parties for her when she is older and not scared of EVERYTHING!!!

Would love to see pics of the doll house when your son finishes his good deed. What a sweet thing to do.

That's great your other son is fixing and donating the doll house he's going to finish. How cool is that!
