The Monsterator - Children's Book Review and Giveaway

I received book for review. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services. Your opinions and results may differ.

Book Synopsis:

When he entered a dusty costume store,
one that he hadn't seen before
He got what he'd bargained for . . . and more.
Enter the Monsterator if you dare.
Put a coin in the slot . . . but beware!

Join Master Edgar Dreadbury as he discovers the Monsterator, a machine that changes people into monsters in this spooky Halloween adventure from Keith Graves.

My Review:

A perfect read for Halloween, The Monsterator is a hardback book that tells the story of Edgar Dreadbury, a boy who finds Halloween to be a bore. No costumes interest him. One day he enters a store and inserts a coin in a Monsterator machine. Edgar is then turned into a monster and playfully frightens those around him. When being a monster no longer interests him, Edgar goes back to the store only to find it no longer exists. Edgar must remain monsterated.

Although the story is about a boy turning into a monster, I don't find that many children would be easily scared by the illustrations or words in the book. Told in rhythmic form, The Monsterator is delightfully fun and entertaining. An interactive mix-and-match section at the back of the book allows children to flip and view many monster combinations.

Win It!

One person will win a hardcovery book copy of The Monsterator.
