Book Summary:

Abducted by a drug cartel, scientist Jessalynn McCoy's orders are simple—release a deadly toxin, or be killed. Trapped with no options, she's desperate for help…she just never expected it from Will Gumble. The boy who let her down years ago is now a navy SEAL. She trusts his skills, his experience. Yet trusting him is a struggle. Will's Christmas wish is to heal their damaged relationship and get them to safety. But time is running out and someone is on to their escape plans. Any mistake could mean the difference between facing the holidays together or apart. Forever.

My Review:

I don't care for romance books where every other page is about two people yearning for each other. Romance is fine as long as there's a decent plot, and Navy SEAL Noel delivers in combining both.  Author Liz Johnson did a stellar job of combining suspense, action, and romance.

Navy SEAL Noel tells of a scientist, Jessalynn, who is kidnapped and taken to a remote jungle to work on an airborne pathogen.  Jessalynn is caught up in shady situations and horrid conditions but keeps her wits about her to buy some time.  Her hero comes in the form of a guy named Will who poses as an undercover scientist.  Jessalynn is familiar with Will from her past and is surprised that he's the one who's come to rescue her.  The two have to come up with a plan to save themselves and the world, while figuring out their feelings for each other.

There were times during the story that I had to pause to absorb the somewhat governmental and scientific terms.  But, other than that, this book is well written and takes readers on a ride of perplexity and courtship.
