Random Tuesday Thoughts - Trivia and Weight Gain

Hey, Mike!  Hey, Mike!  Know what day it is?  Nope, not Hump Day.  It's Random Tuesday Thoughts Day.

If you'd like to play along, link up your randomness at Stacy Uncorked.
--------------------------------
I swear, I had to have been a bear in my former life.  A big, fat brown bear.  Every single winter, my body resorts to foraging food and gaining weight while doing nothing else but sleep.  It's a vicious cycle.  I can't wait until Spring gets here so I can come out of hibernation, lose some weight, and not be in a constant sleep fog.
------------------------------
Saturday night I joined a team with five others for DRDC Trivia Night.  It's a fundraiser for roller derby.  Our team, Insane Brains, placed 2nd out of nine teams.  Not a bad finish!  Although, I'll admit that it was two members on the team that carried most of the weight.  I realized I'm not so smart.
-------------------------------------

Emma went to her first school dance last weekend.  She looked so pretty all dressed up.  Our youngest isn't so young anymore.
---------------------------
I received the best news last Thursday.  My mom is in remission!  Gone are the days of daily chemo and weekly radiation.  She still has lung cancer but the cancer is not active and it has shrank tremendously.  She's still weak but is gaining strength a little each day.  It's seriously a miracle.  Thanks to everyone who has kept her in their thoughts and prayers.
-----------------------------------
That's all I've got for randomness this week.

Do the seasons affect how you feel?  Have you ever taken part in a Trivia Night?

I tend toward hibernation in the winter. Snacking on carb laden foods, snuggling in with a good read and staying warm is my main focus. Makes getting anything done difficult as the motivation is just not there.

Congratulations about your mom's great news! That's wonderful. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and underwent surgery in September. She has her follow-up next week. Fingers crossed!

The seasons definitely affect my mood. I am much happier and more energetic in the spring and summer! I have participated in trivia nights, although it's been a long time. I am a trivia buff.

I am the exact same way every winter, only I imagine myself as a big, fat, lazy house cat (picture Garfield with big boobs) instead of a bear :) So ready for spring!!!

Terrific news about your mom! I hope you have even more terrific news to share with us about her in the future. Take her back to that buffet restaurant--I think it did her good!

Im so happy to hear about your mom. God is so awesome! Your daughter is beautiful and her dress is so cute. The seasons dont change how O feel. I love winter! We need rain and snow here in Ca. Lately we've had lots of sunshine and in high 62- low 70s. It gets freezing at night tho. Our weather is just crazy.
