Wordful Wednesday - BRGR

Last Saturday I ventured to Kansas City, MO to attend a convention with my sister.  The convention left much to be desired but the food venue we chose to eat at for lunch was impressive.  We knew nothing about it before stepping inside, except that it was one of the closest in proximity from the convention center.

BRGR, a modern burger joint, has two locations - one in Missouri and one in Kansas.  The place was rather busy but the food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.  It was the little details that caught my eye.  Like how the knives resembled switchblades.

Don't mind the growl on this gal.  She hung around with us most of the day and happened to be local to the city I live in.  Any ole' how, waiters poured water out of wine bottles.  Again, it was the little details.
I'm not a Scentsy consultant.  I just play one at conventions.

My sister and I thought we'd enjoy ourselves an afternoon drink.  Six Jagermeister shots later we realized we could've bought two full bottles for the price we paid for six shots!  Won't be doing that again anytime soon.

I ordered fries and a Knob Hill Burger.  The burger was made up of Wisconsin Swiss cheese, grilled onion, and sauce on parmesan-crusted sourdough bread.  It was delish!  The fries were brought in a tin cup.  Again, the details.

What's your favorite burger joint to dine at?  Do you pay attention to the details, could care less as long as the food is good?

I don't know that I have a favorite burger joint. I am a big fan of Elevation Burger and Burger 7 though!

I haven't heard of this place before, but the food does look delish. And yes, I do like little details.

I don't eat meat, so while I wouldn't eat the Knob Hill Burger, if they made it a veggie burger, I would devour it, it looks delicious!

Honestly, I think one of my favorite burger places is 5 guys. I know it's not fancy or anything but I can always get a consistently good burger there.

That "switchblade" knife at BRGR looks awesome! I wonder how many they lose from people taking them due to their awesomeness...

I have an allergy to beef so I am not a burger lace kind of girl but yes I do love the little details!

It depends on the burger place, but I'll have to check this out next time I'm in KC. My friends and I hit up Oklahoma Joe's and then venture out to see what else is good.

If I am ever in the area, I will try to remember this place to check it out!
Sometimes I do like to pay attention to the details too, appearance means a lot!

I have a few favorite burger joints, one that has been around in my neighborhood since 1900 and I swear they cook on the same grill the burgers are great. Another up in the mountains in this old country store, I have been eating there for years when I go hiking;) Same thing, I swear their grill is 80 years old, and so seasoned and great anything cooked on it is fab:)

I saw your first picture and immediately thought - Hey, that's Kansas City! Despite living here I've never ventured to BRGR. I do love having a nice amount of options in the down town area though. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your KC stay!

I love cheeseburgers! My favorite cheeseburgers are at Shake Shack and Dick's (a local Seattle chain). Any time I visit a new city, I try to find the best burger they have to offer. It's weird, I know. :)

We have a lot of great burger places in Chicago. Our fave the Counter closed but they are in Los Angeles where my inlaws live. I like the details but will go to a dive if the food is good.

What is a Scentsy consultant?

Okay, maybe I'm THAT weird American but I'm not a huge burger fan. Whenever I go to a BBQ and burgers are the main course I eat my burger without a bun and load it up with mustard to counter the burger taste. I know, I'm weird!

Your food looked so good. My go to burger places in Dallas are Adair's and Snuffer's. I like when a place has fun touches, but ultimately it comes down to how the food tastes.

Yum! That looks good. We don't get burgers often but every now and then I have a craving. But what I'm more impressed with is the 6 Jäger shots you had. Must have been a fun lunch!!

That burger sounds delicious! I agree with you, the price of drinks at restaurants and pubs sure does add up fast.

A burger on sourdough bread? Sounds amazing!

I like Smash Burger. We also have a place near us called King Kong that's good.

Did you say 6 shots of Jäger?! That is my drink of death. One day when we know each other better, I'll tell you the story. But I do love some good sister time!
