Every year our city hosts a St. Patrick's Day parade the Saturday before the holiday. And every year I've never went.
Kind of as a last minute thing, I thought I'd check it out this year. So I browbeat my teenage son to get out of bed and headed out to see what the parade is all about.
I totally, absolutely want one of these (the vehicle, not the guy). It's some sort of new motorsport contraption that's hit the market and I can see myself hitting the streets (or mud, or pavement, or whatever) in one.
Although it's not as cool, I also want one of these motorized coolers. In fact, I'll just take both this cooler and the T-rex vehicle. Is that too much to ask?!
My daughter Shelby (a.k.a. Ginja Ninja) was part of the parade. She was with the roller derby pack handing out candy.
My niece and her two girls were also in the parade, walking with a Girl Scout group.
My nephew, his wife, and their girls also walked in the parade in support of a new jail. It had the feel of a mini family reunion seeing so many of my relatives there.
I'd say the parade was worth the go. It lasted a little over an hour and the festive atmosphere was catching.
How did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
