Another Milestone For My Daughter: She's the Big 2-1!

April 14th.....Ruination Day.  Known for the anniversary of Lincoln's assassination, sinking of the Titanic, and worst of the Dust Bowl storms.

But, for me, there is no ruination on that day.  It's the day of my daughter's birth.

I'm a teenage mom statistic.  A baby giving birth to a baby.  Seventeen years old, still in school, and a new mom who had no idea what she was doing.  The hardships and struggles were real.  And I'd do it all over again.

Shelby Nicole has reached another milestone in her life.  She's officially 21!  I can't even fathom that.  In my mind's eye, she's still my little girl.

I couldn't be a prouder momma of who she's become.  Against her own struggles, she's risen to the top and has made a life for herself.  Shelby lives in her own apartment (thank goodness it's only on the other side of town), works night shift as a Psych Tech, goes to school part-time in the nursing program, and plays on the local roller derby team.

Happy 21st birthday to "My Elby"!

She is very cute and you look much too young to have a daughter that old even if you were young when she was born!
