Another one of our most beloved toys from childhood, PLAYMOBIL, has made its way to the little screen as of April 10th on Netflix. Super 4, a PLAYMOBIL-inspired CGI animated series follows four main characters—Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene, and Twinkle the Fairy—as they explore the distinct island communities of their planet, fight the bad guys, and have fun along the way. The fate of the planet is vested in the u-shaped, PLAYMOBIL style hands of some very intriguing, but very unlikely super heroes. Super 4 is a CGI animated series that follows four main characters—Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene, and Twinkle the Fairy─as they explore the distinct island communities of their planet, fight the bad guys, and have fun along the way. Inspired by one of the most beloved and renowned toy lines in the world, PLAYMOBIL®, Super 4 is a brand new CGI animated series that follows four main characters—Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene, and Twinkle the Fairy—as they explore the distinct island communities of their planet, fight the bad guys, and have fun along the way. The series truly brings the PLAYMOBIL® playsets to life in the same style that kids play with them—by mixing and matching characters together in incredibly imaginative settings and scenarios. There are 26 episodes in season 1, each containing two 11-minute segments

To celebrate the release of Super 4, I invited a couple of my nieces over for a launch party.  Before viewing Super 4 on Netflix, we first amped ourselves up with coloring sheets, stickers, hats and shields.  After the initial excitement wore down, we gathered on the couch to view episodes of PLAYMOBIL'S Super 4.

Although we haven't watched all 26 episodes yet, we did spend some time viewing a few.  The show caught my nieces' attention, and they are excited to watch more episodes in the future on Netflix.  The series focuses on four main characters, all who are quite different from each other.  There's Agent Gene who relies on technology to get out of sticky situations.  He's the most serious of the bunch.  Then there's Alex the Knight who has the most sense of humor.  Twinkle the Fairy is a little flighty, both literally and figuratively.  She has a pet alien.  And last but not least is Ruby the Pirate.  Because there's a mix of characters, it is appealing to both boys and girls.

The characters and sets on the series are crafted to look like PLAYMOBIL toys.  Each episode seems to focus on one main character, with the other three jumping in to help.  There is some mild animated violence but it's not over-the-top.  I'm not sure what the age range target is for this series, but I think it's ideal for children between the ages of 5 to 9.  The show appealed to my nieces and I found myself enjoying it as well.

Favorite characters from the Super 4 series will also be jumping off the TV screen and onto the toy shelf in September when PLAYMOBIL debuts a variety of playsets inspired by the series. The toys will be available both in the U.S. and globally in territories where the show is currently airing.
Have you turned into PLAYMOBIL'S Super 4 on Netflix or do you have plans to watch it?
