Smile Brilliant - Teeth Whitening Kit Review

I received products for review from Smile Brilliant.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.
I don't consider myself judgmental but, like every other human, there's some traits I immediately notice on a person.  For me, it's eyes and teeth.  I'm drawn to pearly whites.

My husband is handsome in my eyes, but his teeth could use some dental work.  That, and they're a little on the yellowish, stained side.  It's not grounds for divorce, but I was stoked to have him try an at-home teeth whitening kit from Smile Brilliant to see if it could give his teeth a more bright, white look.

Kit with supplies

Smile Brilliant offers teeth whitening kits that cost a lot less than getting treatments done at the dentist.  Their dental lab has provided teeth whitening lab services to cosmetic dentists for years.  Now, they have taken that process directly to consumers with Smile Brilliant teeth whitening kits.

There is a preparation process before actually being able to use the whitening gels.  It consists of taking your own dental impressions so they can be sent back to the lab.  There are instructions on how to do it and they're easy to understand, but it's important to read them all the way through.  That way, your impressions are exactly as they should be.

preparing for impressions

The procedure for taking the dental impressions consisted of first brushing and flossing to ensure the teeth were clean.  Then Jason had to mix  the included catalyst paste and base paste.  Once that was done, he had to set the putty in a tray and spread it evenly.  He then had to bite down on the tray of putty to make his dental impressions.  It really wasn't a hard process, but he had to be sure to follow the instructions because the quality of the teeth whitening trays depends on an accurate dental impression.

Once the entire process was complete, Jason stuck the upper and lower impressions in the pre-paid envelope to be returned back to the business.  Once the impressions were mailed out to the company, it took approximately a week and a half to receive the custom whitening trays.  In other words, you can't start actually whitening your teeth until you receive your custom trays back.

Putting drops of teeth whitener onto the custom fitted trays

Once the custom trays arrived at our home, Jason was able to start the actual whitening process.  There were three syringes of Desensitizing Gel and three syringes of Teeth Whitening Gel in the kit.  The Desensitizing Gel is specially formulated to replenish essential vitamins and minerals lost during whitening treatment.  It is meant to be used post-teeth whitening.

Anytime Jason wants to white his teeth, he has to apply a thin ribbon of gel to the front inner surfaces of the trays that come in contact with the teeth, then insert the grays in his mouth.  The custom trays themselves fit right onto Jason's teeth and it's not easy to spot that he's even wearing them.

You can leave the trays on your teeth anywhere from 15 minutes to three hours.  After whitening teeth, the trays can be stored in the case that's provided in the kit until the next time.

Jason wearing the custom trays.  As you can see, it's almost impossible to tell he's wearing them.

The entire process and amount of products can at first be overwhelming.  But it's actually a lot easier than it looks.  After several uses, I've noticed that Jason's teeth are somewhat whiter.  They're not "sun blinding" white but there's definite improvement.  He's been dedicated to using the Smile Brilliant teeth whitening kit and the dedication has been paying off.

This looks like a super professional kit. I know all of us would love to have whiter teeth. As we age, I can see our teeth not as white as when we were young.
