Wordful Wednesday - Easter Weekend

Emma and Jason

Wow, has this year gone by fast so far!  Easter was here before I knew it.
I have to say, it was probably one of the best Easter weekends I've experienced.  I didn't have to work (for the first time in forever) and there was tons of stuff to do.

Friday night me and Jason took four of our kids to the Matthew West Live Forever Tour concert.  I can't even put into words how awesome of an experience that was.

Saturday evening we attended church service and a cookout at a friend's house.

Yep, that's my teen boy flying a Barbie kite!

Easter was spent at a community center in a town so small I doubt it'd be found on a map.  It's held there every year.  Kids played outside and flew kites, a large feast was consumed, and an Easter egg hunt was held.

The Easter menu consisted of pasta salads, deviled eggs, casseroles, ham, frog legs, catfish nuggets, and desserts galore.

My husband helped lay eggs out in the yard for the kids.  Trinkets, candy, and money were inside the eggs.

Three of my great-nieces with their finds.  Notice how each one is in matching attire!

After we made it home, we changed and went directly to a friend's house to watch the baseball season opening game, Cards vs. Cubs.  I have absolutely no interest in baseball, but do have an interest in hanging out with wonderful friends.

For me, Easter is all about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  It's a day of religious importance.  But I also enjoyed the day for the gatherings and camaraderie.

How was your Easter weekend?
