There’s a new series for kids obsessed with tractors. “Casey & Friends” books offer a glimpse into farm life and the machines of modern agriculture.
Young tractor fans (ages 4-8) love the use of real photos that show iconic red CASE IH tractors and other farm equipment in action. A cast of cartoon characters explain how they work. Parents appreciate all the added learning possibilities found in the sidebars, picture glossaries and fun farming facts.
The author is seasoned educator and national curriculum writer Holly Dufek. She joins Pixar “Cars” artist Paul Nunn to help kids make the connection with the farm equipment they see in the countryside and the food on their table.
Four “Casey &Friends” books release in 2015:
A Year on the Farm with Casey & Friends (January)
Big Tractors with Casey & Friends (April)
Combines with Casey & Friends (June)
Planters & Cultivators with Casey & Friends (September)
Of the four books, I was able to review Big Tractors with Casey & Friends, the most recently released in the series. Big Tractors with Casey & Friends shows how the biggest, most powerful tractors handle the demanding jobs of pulling and powering on the farm. Find out how Big Red and Sammy – the biggest tractors on the farm – use their powerful muscles to work in the field with the rest of the team. Learn about the science of farming and discover how advanced technology makes Big Red and Sammy special.
I live in the Midwest, known for its farming communities. Tractors are commonplace and I know several young children who are enthralled with them. CASE farm machinery can be seen in the fields, working all hours of the day and night.
Big Tractors with Casey & Friends is an entertaining and informational book for children, with Case tractors as the main focus. A characterized gal named Casey and a worm named Tillus take readers on a journey of learning about tractors and their parts, timeline of tractors, the wonder of wheels and duals, and so much more. A glossary of words and a page of fun facts are included in the back of the book. Big Tractors with Casey & Friends combines real farm machinery with illustrated characters, footnotes, facts, and other interesting information to enlighten children on what goes into the makings and workings of CASE farm equipment.
One person will win Big Tractors with Casey & Friends hardcover book and a CASE IH Magnum 370 CVT Tractor Toy.

I come from a grandmother of whom was raised on a farm. The giveaway here is the perfect item for that of the youngest great grandchild. If I win this prize it would be that of an amazement beyond words. Though the answer is No, we do have areas where there's horses that are for children with special needs.
