Random Tuesday Thoughts - Bonfires and Gift Cards

Whoo hoo!  It's another week of Random Tuesday Thoughts.  If you'd like to join in, link up at Stacy Uncorked.
Because my house feels like it's overwhelmed with stuff, I'm having a yard sale Saturday.  Purge, baby, purge!  Right now, though, it looks like Hurricane Helen hit the house and destroyed it.  I have boxes and junk everywhere.  I keep telling myself it'll all be better when the yard sale's over.

Thursday night small group by the bonfire

My nephew and son roasting hot dogs over the fire pit

The Midwest weather has been beautiful lately.  We've been spending a lot of time outdoors, especially around bonfires.  Wish it would stay this way all year long.  Not too hot, not too cold.  Juuust right.
My husband took his drag car out for the first time this year for the season.  He usually takes it to a drag strip in Iowa, three hours away.  Rather than pay the money for a hotel, he spent the night in his truck.  Whatever works!
The local Hyvee grocery store held a Springtime Party over the week.  Lots of Facebook deals and savings.  They also handed out $5 gift cards to consumers who went in the store and got a card stamped at six tasting stations.  Can't beat free food samples and a $5 gift card, all in less than fifteen minutes.
I attended my first women's Church Revival last weekend.  It was two days learning about healing, forgiveness, tears, and sacred/secret places.  The first night bored me to tears, but the second night really pulled at my heartstrings.

This is the bridge along the Mississippi River that connects Illinois to Missouri.  Takes me ten minutes to cross from one state to another.

It's our city's 175th birthday!  It's kinda a big deal around here.  Lots of events have been taking place.  Last night it was a Christian concert along the riverfront.  The weather was wonderful, and the music was uplifting.

The musicians for the All Faith Concert were JJ Weeks Band, Johnny Diaz, and Unspoken.  They're all fairly well-known Christian musicians.

Me with a few people from my small group

So, what's your randomness for the week?  Do tell.

Sitting by a fire looks so relaxing.

My randomness is that my oldest handed me a birthday list, and his birthday is in Aug. WTH!? I had to giggle though.

The random tuesday thoughts for Judas and Brutas' guest blog is how bad we feel for that poor Christmas cardinal after Pontius Pilate broke his wing. To me it symbolizes someone trying to silence others opinions and ideas. The main thing to remember in life is that others opinions may not be the same as yours but all thoughts are valid!

It sounds like you had quite a nice week! Gotta love when you're able to just enjoy the little things like hanging out with friends or just sitting by a nice toasty fire. I can't wait until bonfire season here!

My randomness for the week is I got to go in towards Chicago on Saturday for the Gluten Free Allergen Friendly Expo-It was really fun and I can't wait to get started blogging about it :D
