With millions of fans, Michaels had adulation and all the attention he could ask for, but he discovered there was something more. When he became a committed Christian during his years in the WWE it had to affect everything. Michaels reveals what it is like to be a man of faith in this unusual world and shares insights for all of us.
My Review:
My step-father, bless his soul, passed away in '92 from cancer. He was an integral part of our family for 12 years. One fond memory I have of him is when we would spend time together, watching wrestling on TV. He introduced me to the likes of Andre the Giant, Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and more.
I don't follow wrestling much anymore and don't have a clue who the new generation of wrestlers are. But I'm still interested in reading and hearing about the legends I grew up to know. Shawn Michaels is one of them.
Shawn Michaels recently released a book titled Wrestling for My Life: The Legend, the Reality, and the Faith of a WWE Superstar. In it he tells of the life he lead before Christ and the life he lives now since becoming a Christian. Shawn is very candid about the hostile, self-indulgent life he lived. He's also very candid about how he came to know Christ and how it's changed him.
Because I used to watch Shawn Michaels on TV quite often, I was somewhat shocked to learn that his persona was a mask for drugs, alcohol, greed, and pride. And I, in fact, had no idea that he now lives a life following Christ until I read this book.
Wrestling For My Life will probably resonate more to the audience that is familiar with who Shawn Michaels is. Those people will understand what he's talking about regarding the wrestling world. It's still a good book, however, for anyone who enjoys reading about life transformations.

Yes I'm very familiar with Shawn Michaels. My daughter is a huge wrestling fan. When she was 18-20 I took her to a few shows when WWE came to Sacramento,Ca.I'm not such a fan but she is so that's why I took her. One time our seats were where there is lots of stairs and me being disabled I couldn't walk down all of them. So one of the people who worked at the Arco Arena took us behind the stage where some of the wrestlers. We were sitting on the floor where the ring is. My daughter was in heaven.Lol! I've been wanting to read this book.Thank you for the chance & great giveaway :)
