Downy Ball - Review and Giveaway

I received product for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

For most people, when they were growing up, their mother did their laundry. Laundry items and tools have changed over the years but the Downy Ball has remained the same since it’s debut in 1960. It’s simple design has been saving people time by preventing them from having to wait for the rinse cycle to begin to add fabric softener.  It’s easy to use - just fill the ball, toss it on top of your clothes and let the washer work its magic.

For something that's been around so long, I'm surprised I never thought to use the Downy Ball until recently.  It's a simple contraption that's shaped like a ball with a lid on top.  It's operated by opening the plug on the lid, and pouring in the desired amount of liquid fabric softener.  Then securely close the plug and toss the Downy Ball in the wash.  There are three measurement lines on the ball that indicate the correct amount of liquid softener to put in compared to how big the load of laundry is.

I rarely used liquid fabric softener in the past, simply because I didn't want to wait for the right timing to add it to the wash.  With the Downy Ball, I can have the softness that liquid fabric softener offers and it's all with minimal effort.

I have never used a Downy ball but I remember seeing them as a kid and I thought they were like the coolest thing ever, although I had no idea what the heck it was... I was a weird and easily fascinated child. :P

I used a Downy ball many years ago when I had an old-school washer. I'm not sure if they can be used in the newer high efficiency washers though...
