Wordful Wednesday - Eddyville Raceway Park

For the fifth year in a row my husband and I, along with one of my sons, attended the World Fuel Altered Nationals at Eddyville Raceway Park in Iowa.  It's become tradition to take Adam there for his birthday celebration.

It was an entire weekend of cars, and lots of 'em.  All makes and models were on scene.  Of course, the biggest and best were there to compete in the World Fuel Altered Nationals.

One of the best parts is that spectators can walk the grounds to see the cars up close.  And there's several opportunities to meet and greet with the drivers themselves.
Ray's red Mustang and Jason's black Firebird

My husband and his boss are frequent racers at Eddyville.  They both competed this particular time too but neither fared well.  Last year my husband won overall in his class but this year he made it three rounds before being beat.  His boss had the same results.

Have you ever attended car shows or races?  Do you like 'em fast and loud?

Glad Adam got to go :)
That looks like an event my dad would have LOVED to go to. He was definitely a car person.
