Wordful Wednesday - Her Last Derby Bout

With Coach Bloyd on Da Track (also known as her uncle in real life)

Shelby, (aka Ginja Ninja, aka my daughter) participated in her last roller derby bout a couple weeks ago.  For the first time in two years, Jason and I were spectators.  Rather than being a referee or NSO (Non Skating Official) I wanted to see the bout with no interruptions.

Because she's already tried to do the college thing, a full-time job working graveyard shift, and roller derby, Shelby found out the second time around that she had to give up something along the way.  Roller derby it was.  I'm sad to see her leave the team, but glad she didn't try to have so many things on her plate this go 'round.  Last time she was a real GrumpALump.
Me and my daughter

Jason, Shelby, and Adam

On another derby note, DRDC is undefeated so far this season.  They're at 10-0, with only one bout left to go.  They're soaring through the rankings.  Go DRDC!
Shelby and Hot Chocolate (derby referee and announcer)

Have you ever had so much on your plate that you've had to throw some of it to the wayside?  What about roller derby; Ever watch a bout?

Happy Wordful Wednesday!

So glad you and your husband sat out the round and just watched - giving someone we love our undivided attention is so important! Great looking family you have!!

Ive never watched roller derby in person. I have seen it on tv. It can be a rough sport at times.
