My husband was gifted with his first Bible three years ago when he first started his walk in the Christian faith. Although there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Bible he was gifted, he was excited to be presented the ESV Men's Devotional Bible from Crossway.
A truly beautiful book, the ESV Men's Devotional Bible has the written Scripture but it also has devotions and book introductions. The cover is black in color and it includes a ribbon bookmark. The 365 devotions within the Bible were created under the editorial oversight of Dr. Sam Storms with contributions from over fifty Christian leaders. Thoughtful and instructive articles address the importance of sound doctrine, life in the local church, leadership, the heart, calling, and a host of other relevant issues for today.
This is what my husband, Jason, had to say about the Bible:
"I've been studying the Word a lot but don't feel like I know a lot. I'm a "baby" in my Christian walk and need direction. This Bible gives me the Scripture that I need but also has devotions that I can read and use in my life. A lot of the devotions are for men, and they help me see what I need to do in order to be a better husband, father, and Christ follower. The introductions to the books in the Bible also help me get a mental picture of what was going on at that time and who the key characters were. So, yeah, I really like how this Bible helps me and gets me set in the right direction. It's a Bible and devotional in one. It's cool to know Christ and it's even cooler when other people of the same faith are there to guide you."
