Panettone di Milano- Holiday Cake Review

I'm a December baby and my birthday was recently celebrated.  Rather than the traditional birthday cake, I set out a variety of cookies, cakes and candies.  One was the Panettone di Milano holiday cake from the Bauli company.

Bauli, a traditional Italian brand, is best known for its Pandoro and Panettone holiday cakes, which have become traditional staples during the holiday season.  Although I've seen them in stores around this time of year, I've never purchased or tried them until my birthday party.
The cake itself arrived packaged in a neatly shaped box.  The ready-to-eat oven baked cake required no preparation other than unwrapping the paper layer from the bottom half.  The cake had a golden brown color and was almost perfectly shaped.  It looked deliciously inviting.
The Bauli Panettone is all-natural and made with simple ingredients: butter, sugar and eggs, along with sweet raisins and glazed orange peels.  It had a very fresh taste and good balance of flavor.  Rather than cut it in slices, guests tore pieces from the top and ate it in chunks.  It was tasty, and was an excellent choice to serve at the celebration.
