Random Tuesday Thoughts - Candy and Cats

Whoop whoop!  It's another edition of Random Tuesday Thoughts.  Link up at Stacy Uncorked if you'd like to play along.
My birthday isn't until Sunday but I was surprised with one of my gifts yesterday.  I got a beautiful gray and white kitty named Misty.  She's just the cutest little ball of fur.
What makes it even more awesome is that my husband got her for me.  For the longest, he was adamant we weren't having a cat in the house.  Not only no, but hell no.  I let the subject drop because Jason rarely tells me no and I'm already spoiled by him.  No need beating a dead horse.
For whatever unknown reason, Jason decided it was okay to have a cat and he got in cahoots with a good friend of mine to make the arrangements.  He picked her up yesterday and even went so far as to go to the vet and get her shots.  Last night he presented me with her.  I love the gift, and the thoughtfulness behind it.
My bedroom and entire living area upstairs looked like Santa's workshop vomited.  Several times.
There's paper, presents, tape, and tags everywhere.  I've got to get it together, and soon.  Christmas is coming up on us quickly.

Sunday afternoon the family resumed our annual Candy/Cookie Day.  It was a tradition fifteen years in the making but went on hiatus the last couple of years.  My son, Adam, made it known that we were going to get back in to the swing of things and he set things in motion.
My sister's house was assholes to elbows Sunday.  We were some baking fools.  In the end, we made enough cookies and candy to feed an entire nation.  Once all the goodies were made, we split them up on to trays and passed them out to co-workers, friends, and loved ones.

I live in a fairly decent sized town with its fair share of shops and stores.  But sometimes it's nice to go shopping somewhere else and see what they've got.  Saturday afternoon I headed to Springfield with my three kids and a good friend to eat food and spend money.
We went to several shops.  Some I was impressed with and others, not so much.  Michael's and Five Below were my faves.  I'm totally going to petition for them to come to our town.  I could care less if I ever step foot in a Gordmans or Ross again.

Are you ready for Christmas?  Do you own a cat?  What stores do you like to shop at?  What's your randomness for the week?

Welcome to being owned by a cat. It's a great life of slavery, much like having children, only cats are less mouthy. I bet your dog was THRILLED when that adorable ball of fur walked through the door :)

We have Michaels and Five Below. We also have Hobby Lobby which is like Michaels on steroids. Love it! I've never been in Five Below, so maybe I'll pay it a visit. We also have Ross, but I don't shop there. We don't have Gordmans. We have IHop! They have the fluffiest pancakes! All this talk about candy and food has made me hungry! Send some of your candy down to Texas; you can, after all, feed a nation. LOL! Your new kitty is so adorable! I love it. That was so thoughtful. My cat is the light of my life. Well, after my family.

Awww, that's the cutest birthday present ever!! What a sweetie. We do have a cat - he was my son's bday present about a year ago. I'd like to get another one to keep him company during the day, but it's rather expensive to actually "adopt" them from the shelter.
What a nice tradition you have. Such a great idea to do for friends and family.
