Vick's Sweet Dreams Cool Mist Humidifier - Review

I received product for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.
The trusted brand Vicks has launched new devices this year to make cold and flu season a bit easier for families.  One is the Sweet Dreams Cool Mist Humidifier, which I had the chance to review.

The Vicks Sweet Dreams Humidifier takes all of the congestion relief and comforting power of a cool mist humidifier and combines it with magical images for dream filled sleep. While the gentle cool mist eases cold and flu symptoms, the projector turns bedroom ceilings into a safari, sea or star-filled sky. The projector is independently controlled and can run without the mist whenever children want to spark their imaginations. It also accepts two Vicks Scent Pads for long lasting and soothing menthol vapors.

The humidifier arrived already assembled, and included an instruction booklet.  Due to possible condensation, the humidifier needs to be placed on a flat waterproof surface and it should not be left unattended in a closed room.  It runs on electricity with a power cord.

You first need to fill the tank with cool water, not hot or warm water.  Then you need to turn on the power knob to the highest setting after plugging it in.  You can turn the knob to a lower setting when a comfortable humidity level is reached.  When the humidifier is running, a cool mist is released into the air.  It automatically shuts off when empty.

The projector works by turning the projector button to the on position.  The projector can be ran without the humidifier if wanted, for adorable images to be seen on the ceiling.  There are three projector scenes - safari, starry night, and sea.  Each theme cycles through three images automatically.  Themes can be changed at any time by switching to the desired theme's icon.

The humidifier can be ran with cool water alone, or Vicks VapoPads can be added for menthol relief.  One free pad is included with the humidifier.  There's a door on the humidifier for the pads to be inserted, and up to two pads can be inserted at once.

It is recommended that the humidifier be cleaned weekly for scale removal and disinfecting.  There are instructions on the included booklet on how to clean the humidifier.

The machine is fairly quiet and hasn't been disruptive to sleep when we've used it.  It can run up to 24 hours per filling.  Our household has used the humidifier a few times now and it helps clear up congestion.  We are pleased with how well the humidifier works, and the extra feature of the projected scenes is an added perk.

This would make a nice baby shower gift. My kids were always congested this time of year when they were babies.

I have something like this at my place, and it is definitely a worthy product to buy. It really helps with breathing, and allows for air circulation. :D

It will blow either a cool mist or a warm one. It also monitors water level and shut off when out of water. Also you can air diffuser essential oil with it. Haven't tried that yet but I will soon. It's very versatile and can be used at home or the office. It is small enough it doesn't take up much room…..
