#Blessings366- Day 12

I've been a long-time reader of Angie at Blessed Beyond Words and am always encouraged by her faith. Angie has invited bloggers and readers to participate in the #Blessings366 campaign this year.

Angie's challenge is to post one picture and/or write each day of something or someone you're blessed by. It’s a great reminder to be grateful and thankful, even when times are tough.

Today I am blessed by an amazing Small Group.
For the last two years, I've been part of a Couples Small Group that gets together every Thursday to go over that week's church sermon.  We also "do life together".  During my mother's illnesses, I've been amazed at how the couples I've come to know have dropped what they were doing to come to the hospital and pray.  For instance, the one time that I was bawling in the ER over a diagnosis.  Once word got around, one gal dropped everything she was doing (which was eating supper at Applebee's) and immediately went to the hospital to pray over my mother.  Or the other time I was gifted with a $150 grocery gift card so meal purchasing would be one less thing on my mind.  I can truly say the five couples in my Small Group are the best of the best in the crop of friends.
Over the weekend I was blessed to be able to "give back" to a couple in our group.  They are going through some financial hardship.  It was mentioned in a passing conversation and wasn't even the focus of talk.  But we caught on that our friends needed help.  My husband and I, along with the other couples, spent Friday night cleaning our pantries, collecting money, and shopping.  We worked till midnight getting everything together.
The next day we showed up on the couple's doorstep and dropped off the money, groceries, and toiletries.  They cried and cried tears of thanks.  I cried because it felt so good to help people who have done nothing less for me in my times of need.
What are you blessed by today?

Great post :) Today I am blessed by this post because it was a reminder to me that maybe I need to do more to help my oldest daughter see that not only is she blessed in life, but she herself is a blessing. We're having some tough preteen times but I think reminding her to have an attitude of gratefulness and love will help. Thanks!
