Once Upon an Elephant - Children's Book Review and Giveaway

I received book for review from Arbordale Publishing.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

From stopping wildfires to planting seeds, one animal is the true superhero that keeps the African savanna in balance. Elephants dig to find salt for animals to lick, their deep footprints collect water for everyone to drink, and they eat young trees to keep the forest from overtaking the grasslands. In every season, the elephants are there to protect the savanna and its residents – but what would happen if the elephants were only “once upon a time”? Read along to discover the important role this keystone species plays in the savanna and explore what would happen if the elephants vanished.

My Review:

Elephants are majestical, beautiful creatures that I find interesting.  Although not extinct, they are endangered.  Along with any other animal in the circle of life, other species are affected when major circumstances occur.  Once Upon an Elephant is a story that tells the importance of elephants and the benefits they bring to the savanna and other animals.  For instance, elephants dig in the riverbanks with their tusks, giving other animals the opportunity to gather around and drink from them.  This book is a learning tool that's told in an interesting way for children to understand.

The 'For Creative Minds' section at the back of the book further educates by telling of keystone species, impressive facts about elephants, and tropical habitat weather.

Once Upon an Elephant is a Spring 2016 book release by Arbordale Publishing.
