The holidays have come and gone, and winter is here. To help beat those winter blues, Marbles: The Brain Store has endless options for the whole family. For instance, their Lab Coat Collection is the perfect assortment of kits for aspiring scientists who love to blow their minds exploring chemistry and physics.
We received the Polymer Goo Kit from the Lab Coat Collection. I spent some quality time with my teen son experimenting and talking about what we created. The idea behind the kit is to explore goopy science with seven experiments. For instance, you learn how to theoretically make your own blood clots, tadpoles, eyeballs, and more.
Logan suited up in safety gear
The kit has all the supplies you need. It includes beakers, spoons, gloves, chemicals, food coloring, a mask, and instructions. Because there are chemicals involved, it is important to wear the safety gear and read the instructions.
The instructions for each experiment are very detailed, yet easy to follow. One particular step in the experiment requires shaking a chemical with water for quite some time. I'm not so sure whether it was wise to do so or not but we ended up putting the solution in the blender to speed up the process.
In the end, Logan and I were able to create some cool gooey experiments. Adding the food coloring as directed during certain times made it more realistic and gave color to what we were doing. With the beakers, we created different designs and dots to see how they formed and reacted in the chemical solutions. Each experiment was exciting. We were restrained in safety precautions but unrestrained in fun.
One person will win a Polymer Goo Kit.
