My Life Lately - Parades and Parties

Figured I'd do another roundup of what's been going on in my life lately.  So, here ya go:

my great-nieces: Ayala, Imani, Giana at the parade

I didn't do anything for St. Patrick's Day.  In fact, I forgot all about it.  Back in the day, I'd get up at the butt crack of dawn to make it to the local bar.  All the joints would open up at 5:05 am on that day and it'd be packed assholes to elbows with people.  It's all fun and games until........
Ozzy and Adam

Although I didn't do anything on the day of, we did attend a St. Patty's Day Parade last Saturday.  There were approximately 100 entries in the parade.  Lots of beads, candy, and political fliers were gathered.  There was a slight drizzle of rain but that didn't dampen our day.

My great-niece, Giana, turned three years old the other day.  We celebrated with a small gathering in her home.  She's big in to Barbie right now.

I applied for my FOID card.  Just waiting on the state to approve.  Once that's done, I'll be purchasing a pistol much like the one above.

Jason taking aim

Jason and I headed back out to our friend's place last weekend to shoot some guns.  Must say I'm getting better at it.  Got a couple bullseyes.

Emma, Allyson, Logan, myself, and Adam

It's not real often that I take the kids out to eat.  It's usually a one-on-one deal if I do.  Can get costly, ya know.

But, once in a while, it's nice to let loose and not care about cost.  Jason and I, along with four of our kiddos, had Sunday lunch at Elder's, a local eatery.  Most everyone had a tenderloin sandwich, while I opted for catfish fillets.

Allyson and Logan at Elder's

Anyone else have problems voting on Tuesday?  Most of our county kept running out of ballots, leaving several people without the opportunity to vote.  I made it in before ballots ran out.

Now there's an uproar and there may be a special election next week for those who didn't get to have their say on Tuesday.

I'm no longer a Starbucks virgin.  Had my first drink the other day.  It was a delicious Caramel Frappuccino.  Y-U-M-M-Y!

I must admit, though, that I didn't get it from an official Starbucks store.  I purchased it at a Starbucks kiosk at the hospital.  I know that the addictions are real, but I don't see myself being one of those people.  The drink was good and all, but not enough for me to be jonesin' for it all the time.

Are you a Starbucks drinker?  How did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?  What's been up with you lately?

The parades look like fun! I haven't tried Starbucks that much. It's just too darn expensive for me.

Goodness lady, sounds like you've been quite the busy little bee! Looks like you're busy with lots of fun things though so I'd say that's okay ;)

I didn't do anything for St. Paddy's day either unless you count going to my lawyer to figure out how I wanted to proceed with my latest social security denial. Fun stuff!

I applied for my FOID a long while ago and thankfully have had it for several years. I've been waiting to be able to afford myself a gun. Instead of pink though, I want purple :D

I like that gun. We did some target shooting over the weekend. My husband has a concealed carry license. I keep thinking I should take the class to get mine. I'd like to have my two daughters take it too but you have to be 21 here, our youngest won't be until Dec.

Went to the park and barbecued some baby back ribs. Well welcome to the Starbucks club ....yes those Frapps can make you toes curl... lol
My favorite is a Burlee Frapp which is seasonal so you can only get it during the thanksgiving season. It has little pieces of butterscotch on top of it so so good.

Have a great week everyone.
