Random Tuesday Thoughts - Baby Showers and Medical Tests

It's Tuesday, and we all know what that means.  It's time for another edition of Random Tuesday Thoughts, hosted by Stacy Uncorked.
----------------------
My niece's baby shower was held on Saturday.  She's due to have a baby boy anytime now.  The actual day is in the beginning of April, but that little guy is fighting like the dickens to come out.

I'm pretty good at rockin' baby shower games.  I won the Celebrity Baby Matchup Game and came home with a coveted golden bottle trophy.  Also got me a $10 Dairy Queen gift card.  Score!
--------------------
Most of our weekend was spent hanging out with friends.  Friday night we had some people over to chillax.  Saturday eve we hung out at a friend's house for a cookout and bonfire.  Sunday, Jason made his infamous fried chicken.  It's the best this side of the Mississippi.
-------------------------
Speaking of being a good cook, Jason made it in the paper for a food article.  He shared his passion for cooking and even gave up some of his secret recipes.
-----------------------
I never though I'd have mental breakdowns with my boys.  I did all that with Shelby.  I cried at her every milestone.  I didn't want my baby girl growing up.  And now she has, and I'm okay with it.

Adam informed me just the other day that he has plans to move to St. Louis and work for the Pepsi plant down there when he graduates.  Then, last night, Logan threw it on me that he wants to join the Army.  I bout lost my ever lovin' mind.  It's only a little over a year away and they will both be graduating high school.

At least with Shelby and Allyson, they both still live in town.  Shelby on her own and Allyson with her bio mom.  I'm not one of those parents who is anxious for their kids to turn 18 so they can leave the nest.  Stay close baby birds, stay close.

#EEEEK! #WeCantAllLookGoodWithoutMakeup

No, it's not a picture from a horror film.  Now you see why I wear makeup on a daily.  Cover Girl can cover that crap right up.

I've had a red rash on my nose for some time now.  And if it's not red, it's got flaky skin that comes back quicker than I can peel it off.  I chalked it up to crappy skin genetics, but had it checked out by a dr. upon the insistence of my husband and a co-worker.  That, and it was getting harder to cover up.  The redness has also started to grow to my under-eye area.

So off to the dr. I went.  He seems to think I have either skin cancer or lupus.  There's no win-win there!

He done a biopsy on my nose.  And yes, it hurt!  I also had to pee in a cup and do blood work.  I will find out the results on March 16th.  Lupus and skin cancer are on opposite sides of the spectrum but I have symptoms of both, so he took the safe route and had me checked for both.  If you're the praying kind, I'd appreciate 'em.
-------------------------
What's your randomness for the week?  Happy RTT!

That's cool that you're good at baby shower games. When we had ours my MIL rocked it and won every game!

Saying a prayer for you that you get good results on the 16h.

Yikes! That looks painful! I've had skin biopsies before, but never on my face. Positive thoughts for good results to come.

Congrats on the baby shower winnings! I think you deserve to treat yourself to that Dairy Queen now!

Ouch, girl, that looks painful! Glad you had it checked out and I am praying for results you can deal with. That's what we want out of life, right? Don't want crap we can't handle.

The title of that article makes me imagine your husband in the kitchen with a stick of gum, a band-aid, and some WD40 and VIOLA! Dinner is served!

You are blessed with baby birds that have strong wings, so congratulate yourself and your husband for doing a good job :)

So very glad you got your red "patch" checked out . . . such scary stuff we have to deal with as we age. I'll send up some prayers that it's just some rough skin and nothing more serious.

Dairy Queen is my (shameful) jam - I love a Blizzard!

So cool that your husband is a chef . . . kind of jealous over here!

And I'm with you for sure on keeping my kids close . . . we are not near any family and I can only pray mine stay within a reasonable distance so I can watch them have their own families!
