Twinkle Toes Lights Up New York - DVD Review and Giveaway

I received DVD for review from Cinedigm.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

Synopsis:

Twinkle Toes has been dreaming of the ultimate summer vacation with her friends all year long. When her Dad is hired to direct a musical in New York City, her plans are spoiled and Twinkle Toes is off to Broadway instead. At first she is not on board with being away from her BFF’s and trusted bunny, Walter. But with opening night right around the corner, Twinkle Toes soon comes to realize that it’s up to her to make certain her Dad’s play is a smash hit!

The inspiring family feature is now available on Digital HD and DVD.

My Review:

To be honest with you, I'd never heard of Twinkle Toes until I received this DVD.  The female cartoon character was born out of Twinkle Toes footwear, a part of SKECHERS KIDS' shoe collection.  (Clever marketing!)

Twinkle Toes Lights Up New York is the second full-length feature film starring Grace, otherwise known as Twinkle Toes.  She is excited to be spending summer break with her friends but soon discovers she will have to go to New York City with her father instead.  Twinkle Toes ends up being invited to be a part of a Broadway show and, after a particular bad incident, she has to save the show with the help of some friends.

Although there may be some boys who like this movie, Twinkle Toes Lights Up New York is geared towards tween girls.  The animation is a little old school, but the music is catchy and the movie has an overall cheery appeal.

Win It!

We actually went to New York last year. My daughter sold over 1500 boxes of girls scout cookies so she earned a trip to see Wicked on Broadway. We had a great time except it was really rainy.

When I was five we lived on Long Island, not far from Captain Kangaroo. My parents brought us to the City to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

No I haven't been. My niece and her parents went on a school trip and really enjoyed it and shared all these stories about how "wonderful" New York was, and the whole time I was like, "Please, please don't ever make me go there!" No offense intended, New York lovers. I am just not interested.
