Simply put, I like food. I'm not a calorie counter and have rarely been motivated enough to go on a diet. I'm not very picky and will try most anything at least once. (Just don't invite me to any Testicle Festivals....Not gonna happen.)
If I were ever stuck in a castle or a mansion (my imagination has high standards) and had to choose ten foods to eat the rest of my life, these are the ones that would make the cut:
Broccoli - It's best steamed but I'll take it in any form.
Corn Casserole - For some odd reason, it's usually only served during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Which is a good thing cuz I tend to go all Ebenezer Scrooge on someone if they try to take my portion.
Pizza - Carryout or delivery, frozen or freshly cooked. I'll go with almost any brand and almost any topping. One of my faves, and definitely a vice, is Casey's General Stores gas station pizza.
Pumpkin Pie - That is, if it's baked right. My mother was a helluva cook and her pumpkin pie was crazy good. She'd have to bake one for me and one for my brother because neither of us would share with the other. Other pumpkin pies have come close but none have ever been better than hers.
Fettuccine Alfredo - It's the pasta dish I tend to order when eating out. In August of last year I was given a recipe for homemade Creamy Garlic Alfredo Sauce. Gluttony is committed Every.Single.Time I make it.
Dinner Rolls and/or Breadsticks - Smothered with butter, I'd eat a whole dozen.
Watermelon - I want it plain and I want it all. I don't even have to doctor it up with salt. Just let the juices drip.
Crab Rangoon - This American Chinese appetizer of cream cheese and crab meat wrapped in wonton wrappers is drop-your-jaw delicious.
Snicker Salad - I don't make this dessert often because I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and supper without giving a second thought. And then do it again the next day.
Bacon - I love me some bacon. And I'm talking the real deal, artery-clogging, pork kind of bacon. Don't want any imposters.
