A mischievous, swag-obsessed boy must overcome his inner Scrooge, or remain caught in a cycle where everyday is a Christmas without presents.
As I mentioned in a recent post, I've been getting into the holiday spirit by watching Christmas films. One I recently watched was Christmas All Over Again, a new film that releases December 13th (my birthday!)
Christmas All Over Again tells of a teenage boy with crude and rude behavior. He is immature, selfish, and has no regard for anyone but himself. He even implodes with a temper tantrum when his sister gets married on Christmas Day. One day, Eddie (played by Sean Ryan Fox) steps foot in a shop and complains to the store owner that "I just want my Christmas back". The magic shoe store owner (played by Joey Lawrence) does a little magic spell. From then on, Eddie wakes up stuck in the same day over and over again (think Groundhog Day). To change his fate, he has to change his ways. It takes some time for him to learn. The first few days are of him still being his bratty ole' self. But, after a bit, he learns the true meaning of Christmas and that it's not all about the gifts.
The plot is predictable but the overall theme is a good one. Eddie, the teenager, got on my nerves a few times. And that's only because my teenagers would never behave that way. (They wouldn't be allowed to.) But I liked the transition from seeing him as a rebellious, selfish kid to someone who learns to enjoy the simple things that make Christmas so special.
One person will win Christmas All Over Again on DVD.
