2016 Blog Posts and Stats Recap - Reader Appreciation Giveaway

I thought it'd be interesting to recall my posts from 2016 and see where the similarities and differences took place. And, if you read along to the end, I'm also self-hosting a giveaway.  Here are the titles and summaries to the first posts of every month in 2016.

January (46 posts total)

Joining the #Blessings366 Link-Up - Day Two

I saw where Angie with Blessed Beyond Words invited bloggers to participate in a #Blessings366 link-up.  It was created to invite bloggers to post about something they were blessed by each and every day.  I think I made it to the first three months before no longer participating.  It's not that I was no longer blessed, but other posts were brought to the front burner instead.

February (61 posts total)

Good Night, Little Love - Children's Book Review and Giveaway

As the title implies, I hosted a book review and giveaway for a children's book.

March (65 posts total)

The Kind Kids Character Education Book Series - Review and Giveaway

May (37 posts total)

Pointers for Attending A Drag Race

My own personal tips and tricks for what to do and what not to do when attending a drag race.  Figured I'd been to plenty of them that I could give my own personal advice.

June (38 posts total)

November (61 posts total)

Harvest Blessings Giveaway Hop - Gift Card and Movies

One of the few blog hop giveaways that I participated in this year.

December (61 posts total)

Power of  Prayer Thursdays - Week 61
Again, another Power of Prayer Thursdays post.

Heck Of A Bunch has been in publication for seven and a half years.  Not bad, if I do say so myself!  Looking back, it seems I was less busy blogging in the summer months than the rest of the seasons. I posted a total of 608 times during the year, and a total of 5313 times since the blog's conception.

The post that has received the most all-time pageviews for this blog was posted in 2011.  It was a book review and giveaway for the children's book, Good Night Little Sea Otter.  Of all things, who would've guessed!

I cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store for my blog.  I hope it continues to grow and I continue to form friendships with the other great bloggers and supporters out there.  I sincerely appreciate all who come by to my little corner of the Internet to read what I have to say.

In appreciation to all who read my blog, I'd like to offer a giveaway as a gesture of my gratitude.  I'd like to offer someone the chance to win a 1-year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

Win It!

One person will win a one-year magazine subscription to Better Homes and Gardens.

*This is a Rafflecopter giveaway open to residents of the USA.*

I have been following you a little less than a year. Naturally I love the giveaways. I love all the "It is National _____ Day". I like that most of your posts are kind of short. I read a LOT during the day.... I do like that you give me a post I can read in less than 2-3 minutes. There is nothing that I do not like. I will you, your blog and your family well in 2017.

I've been a reader for quite a while. I enjoy your honest reviews and reading about your family.

I visit to enter giveaways and I enjoy reading the family updates in your email newsletter!

I have been following for over a year, and maybe get more tweet entries for your daily entries. It always gives your faithful followers more incentive to keep coming back if you give more twitter points for tweeting giveaways. I like so many of your giveaways, but have never won. Which is okay, I like visiting your blog because it is a fun place to check out!

If I absolutely HAVE to come up with something I don't like, this is sort of picky, but I'm not crazy about the layout, how all the text is squinched into a small column in the middle fifth of the page. It feels like all you do is scroll and scroll to read anything. I like the mobile version, though :-)

I love the personal posts you put up. The ones of your mom especially. It added a feeling to your blog. We all experience happy, sad, and so on emotions. They are all important to express.

As for changes, I agree with Marty above...make the middle not so tight. I also don't like how the Precious Moments add is getting cut off. I think if you click to change it, make it small, medium or large. Then in the HTML you can make the % on top and bottom smaller to get it to fit.

I have been reading for a while now because your posts amuse me--your family and your humor remind me of my own! I am always open to more giveaways (who doesn't want more free stuff?!) and I think you should do more crafts. Haha just kidding. I do like when you share recipes :) It's your blog; do what makes you happy.

I have been coming to your blog for years. I really like the giveaways. One thing that I don't like is that you use feedburner to sign up for the newsletter and hotmail rejects all feedburner so we never get the confirmation email to sign up it's a big problem all over with other bloggers too you might want to google that and maybe switch you may get more followers.

I've been a follower on and off over the years. I even have you on my list of favorite sites :) I, of course, love the giveaways and that you have an awesome easy listing to see which ones are live. I'm hungry right now so I would also say throw some more food in it LOL Good job!

Your reading area is so narrow. Maybe instead of 3 equal columns, try experimenting with a two-column layout so the reading area is wider.
